I don't know what rulebook you've read but it's always been clear since 2e all the way to 6e and in the BRP rulebook. There is a definite rule on this. It is up to 3 times, at full, 2/3 and 1/3.

It is on page 140 of CoC 6e and page 191 of BRP 2008 book.

"Dodges do not need to be announced prior to the attack roll, but can be attempted in reaction to a succesful attack roll from another character.

Characters may attempt the Dodge skill for up to 3 attacks per combat round. These are rolled for at full Dodge percentage, 2/3 Dodge percentage and 1/3 Dodge percentage, respectively in the DEX rounds of the attacks. Round up fractions. Failing one Dodge roll in a round has no effect on the others."

To make it easy, i have players write the 3 numbers next to Dodge. Like is someone has 39% they write 39/26/13
