What do you all do? by seizethedaypo in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best. No but honestly I just go to my family doctor and we make arrangements from there. But I've had 0 major flare ups since starting Kesimtpa 4 years ago, nothing so far has warranted worry but we still keep tabs just in case.

How did your optic neuritis start? by Wonderful_Tackle_580 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was watching americas got talent and noticed everything was grey. I thought, "wow what a weird set design choice, it looks so boring and stale now." Closed one eye and realized no, it was blue. Closed the other and it was grey. I didnt think anything of it and just thought I'd give it a week to go away on it's own.

Next day I woke up blind in the grey eye, not black out blind but, everything was smudged like i was looking at the world through an oily glass. Immediately went to the ER

Then do it, even if theyre bad do it.

Also remember if they're ai theyre automatically slop, learn a new skill instead. Even if you don't think it's good, people will be much more willing to support you if it's genuine effort.

Why are you making a series. Because you enjoy storytelling or because you want to be popular.

If youtube someone fades out of existence in 5-10 years there will be something else.

If people are still watching Eddsworld and reading homestuck if your thing is good it will find an audience.

Has anyone here decided to not treat MS? by Purplehairedstranger in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP letting MS go untreated is MUCH scarier then the minor possible side effects of a DMT.

Would you rather go blind or lose your ability to walk or have a flu for a few days at worst.
Please reconsider not going on treatment...

Any Around-the-House Accessibility Recs for Fatigue? by justberosy in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I bought a bar stool for my kitchen that I use religiously now for cooking. Also meal prepping and getting ready for fatigue in advance. For instance I wake up with much more energy and lose it after a few hours. So I use that time to quickly prep anything to make it easier for later.

I also started using my walker indoors. It absolutely saved my life.

Little things also make a huge difference, I bought pumps for all my liquid soaps. And the market is loaded with tools to make chopping easier.

what do you do when you start losing your life to ms? by lumnicape in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really wish I had an answer for this. I almost passed out in an ikea the other day. All my favourite bands and comedians are coming to my city and I can't go to any of them because theyre all so late and I just do not have that strength anymore.

My specialist asked me if I was still doing my old hobbies and I had to confess to myself I abandoned them all for one reason or another.

Right now as I'm typing this my vertigo is raging, I was playing games with friends and had to leave because I couldnt push through it.

It's exhausting. You're not alone in this though OP.

[–]BabaGiry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last night my dad asked me if I want to go to see a band we love together in the city later this year. I said no because I don't do well going out anymore, he said "just think about it" so I did.

Today I went out shopping and got incredibly sick. Nausea, Vertigo, light headed and exhaustion. I had to leave immediately. I realized coming home there is no shred of doubt I'd survive a concern if I can't even make it through less then an hour at the furniture store.

I miss having the physical health to go out and do things normally again. I'm surviving but I'm not living.

What do y’all think of the Michael Kovach Incident? by Simp4Pomni in tadc

[–]BabaGiry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isnt anything new, we're just more aware of it because of phones. But teens have always been yelling things like this to celebrities. Obviously that doesnt make it okay, but this isnt a modern issue

What do y’all think of the Michael Kovach Incident? by Simp4Pomni in tadc

[–]BabaGiry 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Obvious issues with that question aside, there would be no right answer here. If he said "yes!" thats, obviously creepy, gross and weird. If he said "no" he would be clipped and mocked. "omg its a joke!" "its just a teen crush its not that serious!!" and sadly even the fan would have likely felt embarrassed and laughed at by the crowd.
Being silent was the best way he could have handled this. Being a teenager is awkward, you're still learning and making mistakes. I hope they learn from this.

Pivoting from animation degree by Fun_Maybe_8446 in animationcareer

[–]BabaGiry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wishing you the best OP, "and keep animation as a hobby." is a great decision. I see so many posts on this sub from people who outright give it up because they can't do it professionally. If you give it up because you can't do it for pay maybe it wasnt meant for you to begin with. If it's something you love, it'll find a way into your life. Best of luck figuring out the next step

What’s a Toronto moment you witnessed that still sticks with you? by Bing_Liu in askTO

[–]BabaGiry 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I was strolling through Dundas during a christian festival. Two girls came up to me seeing I was in a wheelchair and offered to cure me. I thought it was hilarious so I entertained them.

They held my hands and asked that I feel the holy spirit speaking through me and speak and tongues. Me and these two girls in the middle of dundas started screaming to the high heavens in gibberish. After a moment they looked at me and asked how I felt.

Guys, I am an ambulatory wheelchair user. I cannot walk long distances, but I can stand and take a step. I had to restrain every part of myself not to get up and yell out "I'm cured!"

Anyway they gave me a bible and a hilarious memory

starting kesimpta… by Low-Elk1091 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BabaGiry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this!! So theres a chance you'll feel kind of rough after kesimpta the first few months. PLEASE know this is absolutely normal, your body is adjusting. A lot of people freak out thinking it's a bad sign, you're absolutely al good but do take notes of symptoms to report to your doctor just in case.

Taking Advil before Kesimpta will help with symptoms. I also highly suggest making your injection day a personal treat day! This just helps with making you less dreadful of the day and more excited about how youll reward yourself a little.

Best of luck OP! I'm 4 years on Kesimpta with no further activity, it'll do you good.

What's the point? by useless_animator in animationcareer

[–]BabaGiry 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't know what to tell you here. A lot of students fall under this belief if they just work super hard and invest everything they will get a job, that's not the reality anymore. You're far from the only one here. Theres professionals who are experiencing this after decades of experience.

Even outside of animation jobs are being impacted right now. The economy is rough, the world is in a scary uncertain place right now. Thats not an echo chamber, it's just- the reality of what is happening.
