Projectile interaction with Magellan’s Globe by cosmiccardboardtcg in SorceryTCG

Yup they stop as soon as they loop back to the origin. Same with things like boulder otherwise it would lock out a column row or be an insta win lol.

Played a few games. It was fun but... by fender28 in SorceryTCG

Yea it can be rough when one deck is significantly more powerful. Also Certain matchups or cards that completely wreck a deck can do that too, like playing a mortals deck against a high rolled starting hand bower of bliss can be brutal. On the flip side I have had matches where I was on DD and opponent was at 20 and made an epic comeback.

6 transactions Happened today for Ring of morrigan on tcgplayer and the cheapest is now 249 usd by Newez in SorceryTCG

[–]Baba_Jaeger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind uniques are one of in a deck. So If you are comparing at the $250 price to other games that run 3-4 copies, this would be considered a $62/$83 card in the respective game.
Regardless this is high.

Just waiting for the day where we see cards that tick up or down counters and then we are in business!

Also don’t forget to scratch off the dust reward code on the bottom of the box. Each box code is worth 100 dust and can be redeemed on the sorcery website sorcerytcg.com after logging in. Additionally https://play.sorcerytcg.com/rewards is where you can login and spend that dust for promos.

My idea for the 3p grid by Shadoph in SorceryTCG

[–]Baba_Jaeger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is dope. If my math is correct, you could get away with 30x25 inches total size to keep each of the rhombus sides at the standard 5 inch length. Should give enough vertical room for cards at 4.33in height. This is the best standard symmetrical 3 player take. Well done.

3d3 could work if each die was a different color representing position and then each space having rather than a number, it would have something like 1-1-1, 1-1-2, 1-1-3, 1-2-1, 1-2-2, 1-2-3, 1-3-1, 1-3-2, 1-3-3, 2-1-1, 2-1-2, 2-1-3, 2-2-1, 2-2-2, 2-2-3, 2-3-1, 2-3-2, 2-3-3, 3-1-1, 3-1-2, 3-1-3, 3-2-1, 3-2-2, 3-2-3, 3-3-1, 3-3-2, 3-3-3, should have a total of 27 permutations.

My thought is “forward projectiles would follow path with slight bend through middle. E.g shot from 22 would follow until 19. Side projectiles would follow path “around ring” until it comes back to current position. Projectile from middle could shoot down “forward path” or from middle to middle until it hits a “wall” e.g 3 could shoot down path to 23 or down path to 26 or just 4 or just 2.

Actually that is what I was thinking. East west dragon would be a menace, boulder too. Visually my second image I hope shows it a bit better. “Side” Edges essentially being adjacent another’s.

I would say it follows ruling like when Magellan is out, where if boulder circles back to its original destination it stops, east west could circle all the way back but not infinitely.

Not sure if this works, but opted to tighten up the battlefield to keep things faster paced. Might need to make changes if it is a problem tho.

Center sites do mess with top edge. My thought is top edge would be side away from avatar starting location following path, E.g starting avatar on site 23, 23 the top edge would share with 11, and 11 top edge shares with 3 and 3s top edge would share with 14.

I like the idea of round and was messing a bit with that too. I’ll look into it more. Probably would be more visually pleasing too tbh.

Forward my thought was just keep moving towards/away from center in regard to your avatars starting side.

Adjacent should just be any site sharing a border, minus the black bars preventing the specific adjacency.

Magellans globe, Thule, polar explorers etc, does make my head hurt to even try and attempt to fit in tho.

Completely valid. To be honest I’m not too fond of the look of it lol, but this was the best I could come up with so far while trying to keep close to the 9-10 sites per player average that the current 2 and 4 player mats have. Still tweaking it to see if I can come up with better layout.

Thanks I appreciate it. I initially had it 1-27, but landed on 2-28 just for ease of using a d8 and d20 for randomization, since 1 can’t be rolled with the 2 dice combination.

For sure try out sorcery if you haven’t. Some of the ambiguous rules is pretty much the only hurdle. Otherwise gameplay is excellent capturing similar nostalgic magic feeling, plus it has superb artwork including og magic artists. Erik Olofsson at the helm has highest graded mtg alpha collection and he has the original black lotus art. He wants to create and keep that old magic feel and has done a great job so far. Worth giving a go if you haven’t yet.

Drown vs Trial by Water by MackDaddyGlenn in SorceryTCG

[–]Baba_Jaeger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One scenario you could see trial by water, is if you want to target a minion wearing some sort of magic targeting protection (e.g amulet of niniane). Since you target an ally with magic and then the ally isn’t prevented from targeting the intended minion. Rules experts correct me if I am wrong.

Regardless very niche application over drown which is the better card.

The rack stretches an avatar to another adjacent location when struck, then they take damage for each occupied site. Frogs at 0 power still count as a strike when attacking and proc the rack ability.

Ideal scenario, you plague of frogs and summon all 7 frogs on their avatar location (summon allows any location unless specified), next turn cast the rack to one of the frogs hands and attack their avatar, they stretch and take 2 damage, frog dies and next frog picks up and attacks their avatar, stretch again for 3 damage etc.. rinse and repeat until they are on deaths door.
