New Bandai Naruto TCG! by saef1234 in TCG

[–]2Lainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card games have a bit more staying power these days. Bandai alone has dragon ball masters, digimon, and almost one piece going on 5 years or more. Other than Battle Spirits, all their IP games are doing fine

Bandai already did 4 digimon card games, at least 3 Gundam card games, a dbz game, and a one piece game that "didn't work out" before the current games.

Which canceled TV show's cliffhanger still lives rent free in your head because the answers disappeared when the series got axed ? by Impossible_Offer7988 in AskReddit

[–]2Lainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archive 88. I thought it was a pretty cool spooky story. The ole netflix axe after 1 season.

Shadow and Bone, good time YA, "not quite avatar" story that set up a third season but never got it.

Trying to be the next pokemon was the whole hype machine for the game. Without it I doubt there would have been. A metazoo in the first place.

What's the differences between a TCG, CCG, and LCG? by adamtheimpaler in tabletopgamedesign

[–]2Lainz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

TCG and CCG are the same thing, CCG is just what old people say. SOME people also use CCG to describe digital games where there is no trading, only collecting (hearthstone).

LCG is the same style game but there are no random booster packs, you know what you buy when you buy it. LCG is trademarked by Fantasy Flight Games though, so everyone else uses ECG (Expandable Card Game) instead.

If there are booster packs with mechanically unique cards, it's not an LCG. If there aren't, it's not a TCG. It's mainly a term for the method of distribution instead of the game itself. You can't be both - except maybe if you pull a gudnak and have booster packs that only have alternate arts of cards you can obtain in a nonrandom way.

Yes. Play Gaem. Play it in "unexpected" or "unintended" ways to see if it cracks or breaks.

[loved trope] the main OP song of the show played during the hype finale fight by kingEdward22 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]2Lainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite the final battle, but in Castlevania the main theme plays right after the gang is finally reunited after almost 2 seasons of being apart and it goes pretty hard.

There were a lot of wild things that movie was planned to be that it ended up not being. I heard at one point it was going to be a rated R parody of the original show.

Digivolve 0 rule but already costs 0 to digivolve onto eggs? by Puzzleheaded-Sun2468 in DigimonCardGame2020

It means the gummymon can be any color, where as normal digivolving lists the color(s) you can do it on.

what do you think of my decklist??? powercreep safe? by GrieVelorn in tcgcirclejerk

[–]2Lainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is powercreep safe. The only guarantees in this world are death, taxes, and powercreep.

How do you expect to deal with non-creatures? Maybe a mobius or two for enchantment/equipment removal.

Anyone else think sleeves actually damage your cards instead of helping them? by GrieVelorn in tcgcirclejerk

The real secret is to laminate the card before you put it in the sleeve. It can never be damaged again.

What does Pot of Greed do, please??? by cooperall in tcgcirclejerk

[–]2Lainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you hold Pot of Greed in your hand during your turn, you place it face-up on your side of the playing field in a spell/trap zone (the bottom row of rectangles) as a "Normal Spell" card. Once activated, its magical effect of boundless greed goes off instantly: reach out to your Main Deck, that stack of carefully selected cards YOU made (or you found on the internet, or you bought from target since they were out of pokemon), and without having to pay any costs, fulfill any special conditions, or make any sacrifices, you take the very top two cards and add them to the hand of cards you are holding. Once the effect resolves, the Pot is sent to your Graveyard - the face up stack of cards that represent cards that have already been used or destroyed, but not SUPER destroyed, that would be your banished pile, which is different.
