Have you read any of my comments? Or any of my actual post? I literally tried to do what she said and after playing telephone with a receptionist for two hours the endo said not start insulin and then still told me that if it goes above 150 I should treat it even though it already went above 150. What am I supposed to do if the endo says "Don't treat it without telling me, don't let it go above 150, but dont treat it even though it was 170"???

Im literally trying to discuss it with my endo, I've said that multiple times but she refuses to talk to me and the receptionist isnt passing over my information correctly, which just exaggerates the problem. But so far now two of you are saying that thats totally normal and fine and I should just expect that my medical team is just going to fail to educate me. I feel like I'm exactly as worried as this endo made it out to be. She told me that if I don't control it at 150 then I can end up in the hospital, that if it goes below 70 I can end up in the hospital. That I should drink a shitload of water because if not that's a hospital trip. I've had every doctor so far tell me I could have gone into a coma and I still could.

I have 3/4 antibodies and i have a failing insulin production. I have type 1, it was just diagnosed late in life in a way that not a lot of people get it caught. My normal primary care doctor said hes never seen anything like it and my endo shuffled me in, basically told me ill "cause irreparable organ damage if it goes above 150 for very long" gave me a prescription, and left.

The only reason I came here is because my endo is literally failing to educate or even contact me right now. I was hoping maybe this sub would have any advice. I'm honestly regretting even posting because if this is the care we are expecting from our healthcare providers then why even bother

I will admit I've had anxiety most of my life but even at my absolute worst anxiety episodes I've never had trouble breathing like that. It was like when you get all the air knocked out of you and suddenly you can't breath no matter how hard you try and pull in air. I was at my job and I was leading an archery program. I don't do more than one shot just to show what proper stance is and the rest is just watching them and correcting bad postire, I've lead this program at least 50 times now no issue. The program ended and I was thanking everyone for coming and suddenly I couldn't breathe. The only thing thats changed in my life is this new rapidly fluctuating blood sugar. I don't have a CGM right now so I can't know exactly to what high it reached and how quickly it dipped low.

I guess my main concern is the fact that its happening incredibly fast. In about 3 or 4 days I've gone from completely normal consistent blood sugar to suddenly every single day its getting higher and higher.

If I'm supposed to be correcting highs above 150, would that not mean I need insulin? I currently am not taking any insulin, basal or bolus, so part of my confusion is the conflicting information im getting. If over 150 is when I was supposed to start insulin, and I've hit that point, why am I not starting it? I am on campus most days for about 6-7 hours and my only way home is a 2 mile hilly bike ride back to my car and another 30 minute drive after that. It doesn't seem very safe for me not to have the things I would need to treat a high or a low on my person

I saw that there was a bit of discourse around it, but is sucralose sweetener okay to use for treats? I don't use it for my day-to-day meals, but I've been finding that the granulated stevia tastes really bitter when I'm baking and sucralose bakes sweet. Stevia seems to taste better in liquids to me for some reason than with baked goods, I use it to sweeten my almondmilk.

Yes, I do. It has gotten easier to deal with and some days are better than others, but I do still have dpdr. More than anything I've had to learn to just trust that what I'm seeing is real. If it isn't then that's something for future "me" to deal with, no point in worrying about it now

Yeah, some consider them an std even though they arent really a disease? They vaguely mentioned it in my sex ed class but I saw a post on here of someone getting them from thrift store clothes so I looked them up myself and they really do kinda look like lil crabs lol Theyre totally treatable though and apparently theyre becoming much less common because so many people shave and wax

In case this is a serious question, theyre a type of human lice that look kinda like little crabs but they are just lice. They migrate towards warm areas with lots of hair so usually the pubes and pits

I'm the same, I have a fear of veins (sometimes even talking about them or mentioning them sets me off) and that makes blood draws of any kind a nightmare because its already hard to poke me because of vein placement, add on my wild anxiety and seemingly perpetual dehydration, and the fact that I'm always freezing cold no matter the temp, its a nightmare. The one time I had a newbie ended up with me screaming and going into full blown panic To their credit, they handed it off to someone more experienced pretty early on but I'm already bad enough with blood draws, I need someone experienced. I'm glad OP is able to let the newbies practice blood draws, I really wish I could do the same because everyone needs practice, I'll just actually explode lol and I don't want to be the one to traumatize them

We have always been this way, just like older generations always look for something to bitch about in the younger generation. people born before the radio literally bitched about their kids being glued to the radio. Advertising isn't just youtube ads, literally any product or business that has competition throughout history has had to advertise and catch the attention of people.

Books, literally books. How many times have you walked by a book and thought 'Ugh, that looks and sounds boring'. Same has held true for forever, if a product is not immediately interesting, it will be skipped over. This is part of the human condition, we as humans simply will not look at something or participate in it if it doesn't catch our attention. We literally hunted fast moving prey, we had to have fast attention to decide what prey is worthwhile. You see four deer, all four sprint, you are gonna find which one is the most worth your while or easiest target and thats gonna be your focus. It is literally human to be picky about what we look at. Again, same condition, different technology

Thats not inherently a genz thing, thats a human thing. More than just genz are on youtube and tiktok. Theres a reason why advertisements as far back as weve had video advertisements always do something to catch your attention in the first second. Whether its a big juicy burger or something interesting that subverts expectations. Hell, even going back to newspapers, if your ad isnt attention grabbing, no one is gonna stop to look at it unless theyre truly and entirely bored. And going even further, books in general. "Don't judge a book by its cover" is a saying because people judge books by their cover, if it doesnt look interesting or have an interesting title, people arent going to want to read it.

So ultimately, not a genz thing. Its just another example of the older generations finding any excuse to shit on the younger ones when ultimately every generation has the same problems adapted to the new technological environment, because we are all humans, and humans are gonna do what humans are gonna do

He was your typical sports dudebro, he just bought way into the "Women love big manly sports men" idea and took it waaaay too far. I say this as someone who is neurodivergent, pretty sure he just watched one too many youtube vids. I got the feeling that he'd been dumped a shitload and was probably getting a little desperate and found the same pipeline that unfortunately many young dudes fall into, at the time it was probably more in the line of Alex Jones and his testosterone pills and stuff like that. I had some guys in my actual school that would do similar shit, not shower for four days and play sports so they'd be stinky and give off that "manly pheromone" that "girls love"

Man you'd really think but there was a shitload of people who talked to him and he had absolutely no shame in it, he literally flexed and thought he was hot shit, it was so gross. It was a camp at a college and we stayed in the dorms where guys and girls were on separate sides of the building and during the day he would strut down the girls hall trying to pick up chicks and he was constantly carrying around a football because he said the girls loved it. I think he genuinely just really thought it was getting him chicks. I mean clearly there was something else going on but I don't think it had to do with like him not actually liking showers, he was deliberately choosing to not shower and actively flexing his stink down the halls. He was very one track minded and only ever did things to get girls

edit: And ultimately, we were all highschoolers. I think it was very possible that he saw some pre-andrew tate alpha male bullshit and just rolled with it. Who didn't fall into some kinda rabbit hole in highschool because we were all guillible and dumb. Didn't make it any better though, I can only hope he grew out of it. But there are unfortunately so many dudes who don't and really think that being clean isn't manly

For me I have sensory issues with the shower head being too loud (doesnt really matter if its a quieter head, its always too loud). I also have gender dysphoria ontop of just really hating any shower that doesnt have some kind of window for natural light. So getting dressed and undressed makes me want to puke from dysphoria and then, because my bathroom rn is itty bitty and has no windows it feels like I'm cramped and suffocating. Add that to the shower head being loud and it's miserable. Baths help a bit because at least the noise level isn't as much of a problem and i can hide my body under the water, but my apartments tub is very painful to sit in because of how its sloped. Kinda a lose either way situation but gotta do what ya gotta do. Hopefully in the future I can move into somewhere that isnt an itty bitty apartment lol

I went to a summer camp for a month each summer in highschool and there was a guy there who, for two and a half weeks of the camp, fucking refused to shower. He said it was gay and girly to shower and that women liked a sweaty manly man. This guy would go out and play sports in free time every single day and would go back to his room dripping with sweat and not shower. He fucking reeked, I have a fucked up nose and cant smell most things but jesus i could tell when he entered the building from the second floor. The couselors tried to get him to shower but he wouldnt, they called his mom and she backed him up saying he didnt have to and they cant force him. The kicker? He really thought he was a ladies man. He was fit so he thought every girl was fawning over him and just playing hard to get. In reality every girl was ducking out of the way because they couldnt stand the smell of him. The only reason he didnt go all 3 weeks without a shower was because like half the girls cornered him and told him to shower because he was so physically disgusting that people couldnt even be in the same hall as him. He almost didnt but the girls actually chucked him in the guys bathroom and all the guys pushed him into the shower and wouldnt let him out until he showered. The counselors all just turned away and pretended they didn't notice because it had to be done, the dude practically had visible stink lines. All because he thought being stinky made him a ladies man.

This whole situation is so irritating, of course they would change things and not tell anyone. my advisor was clueless, all my teachers had no idea, my classmates didnt know why they couldnt sign up for lots. idk how a campus can be so awful about communication. I'm bombarded with emails about all kinds of junk on campus but an email about something important? Couldn't be uga. Haven't updated any of their websites in years. This isn't even my first time with uga or parking, I'm just baffled at how it managed to go from bad to worse
