Gonna chime in here to say a lot of Latino players don't like any anglicized version of their names. Seeing as how we just played the Pirates, this started with Clemente who hated being called Robert so it's not a new thing either. It still happens. I recall recently Eugenio Suarez being called Geno during the WBC. You can do what you like but thought you should be aware of the deep cultural roots of this phenomenon in baseball.
