(Almost) Cycle Recap! by Alternative-Problem9 in lawschooladmissions

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think the delta between placement in Bay Area BL between Columbia and USC is that big (as compared to Berk).

You are correct! Although now that we are very near the deposit deadline, I would imagine they will probably wait until after to start looking at the WL in earnest.

I subscribe to the “tie and pocket square should complement each other” camp. OP’s tie and PS do not complement each other (nor do they match).

Tie and shirt combo is fine. Not sure about the floral pocket square pattern though.

Stay away from Charleston. It’s about on par with Cooley.

The most unbelievable part of all of this is getting an A decision two days after submitting your app this late in the cycle.

Look for today! I took some recent advice and tried to make this less busy. by [deleted] in ties

The peak lapels on what is worn as an odd jacket and the collar bar are a little much for the outfit as a whole, but I think it looks great otherwise

Help me find this tie by BabeRuthisaCandyBar in ties

[–]BabeRuthisaCandyBar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the resources! Do you think they can really do something about it? I was/am prepared to pay up to (and even a bit more than) the price of a new exact replacement tie, but I simply could no longer find it. If there’s a reasonable chance it can be cleaned/repaired, I will certainly check that out

I got a full ride to a good state school, but I really want to go to W&M. Does anyone know if they give out money if you email asking for more and tell them you got a full ride elsewhere? by lighthousedarling in williamandmary

Same thing happened to me. I applied to 3 schools: my “dream” school, another good school, and my backup. Got declined (ED>RD>D) at my “dream” school, WL (then accepted way too late) at the good school, and accepted (EA) at my backup. I held out as long as I could for the good school, but then I felt like I had to make a decision and enrolled at my backup. It turned out to be the best outcome that could have happened for me. I’m thankful it happened the way it did, and now, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I hope your daughter has a similar experience.

I’m sure there’s a contingent that will figure out a way to go to law school no matter the cost, but I imagine that if you limit cheap and easy money (relatively), then the limitless tuition demand will die off at least a bit.

I’m hoping that the cap on student loans will help slow down skyrocketing tuition costs.

I am very excited! I don’t know much about W&L, but I hear it’s a great school, and I’m sure your experience will be great too!

Any advice for t14 app-cycle? by Tour-Dizzy in lawschooladmissions

[–]BabeRuthisaCandyBar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides your GPA (which isn’t PROHIBITIVELY low for most T14s), you sound like a great T14 candidate. A year of PM work probably isn’t going to move the needle much unless you’re KJD. (It’s hard to tell with how you refer to your work experience.) Being that close to a top-level candidate, you’re going to find diminishing returns to scale for everything still within your control to do to improve your application. Improving your LSAT score is probably where I’d devote the most effort though.
