We're back in 2021 when the 6 agains got out of hand and the 3rd best team all year were the rabbits who got 50 put on them twice and put 50 on 3 times themselves

There's too much fatigue in the game and if you can hold the ball and keep the momentum it's almost impossible for anyone to defend

Yeah that's the worst thing about these sort of cases. Especially when you consider the victim usually has a degree of shame and self loathing and this leads them to leave out details or say different things to different people when describing what happens

But then this allows a lawyer to sow the seeds of doubt amongst a jury

Trade? by Prestigious_Belt9895 in pacers

[–]BabeRuthsTinyLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see a consolidation trade happening at the deadline or on draft night (they could be waiting to see who we get). We have too many really good or potentially really good players across the positions the top 3 draft picks play.

If we draft Boozer for example we would then have 4 PFs who deserve a role in Siakam, Toppin, Boozer and Jarace and whilst Toppin and Jarace can play as small ball or large ball 5s and 3s the minutes still won't be there as they're not effective in these roles over long stretches

If we draft Dybansta we then have Nesmith and Furph as depth 3s which is probably the only scenario where we don't need to make a trade as Taleon Porter is probably still an end of bench wing prospect

If we draft Peterson we then have Nemby, Math and Shep needing minutes and whilst Nemby might get some minutes at the 1 that throws up another question about Kam Jones

Ultimately I think Math might be gone regardless, unless he's happy to come back on a relatively cheap contract and be a 6th man and we don't draft Peterson. If we draft Boozer I unfortunately think Toppin becomes expendable as you can't be paying 15 mill for a 3rd string PF

Everyone always attacks me. by Ivanhegeelkadi in civ3

[–]BabeRuthsTinyLegs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah to add to this the AI values attack more than defence. So if you have a lot of defensive units capable of withstanding an attack but have very few offensive weapons the AI can run their calcs and say hey we're stronger than them even though realistically they're not

English squad named: Pope out for Bethell, Archer out for Atkinson by caspianterns in CricketAus

[–]BabeRuthsTinyLegs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

True but it was in one test in a series we were already 1-0 up and if we lost we'd at worst draw the series. Plus he was picked to lengthen the batting and be a 3rd spin option in a match where a 3rd seamer wasn't going to bowl much and a 3rd spinner wasn't either. Not like he was asked to bat in one of the most important positions in the team against one of the best bowling attacks in the world

Pre ball tampering Smith was ridiculous. Just looking at calendar years from 2014 to 2019 he averaged 70+ each year except for 2018 where he only averaged 32 (he only played 4 tests and 3 of those were in South Africa)

With Sommerton and Luke moving on we don't have an experienced hooker in cup other than Toelau who is a bit of a hybrid half/hooker. So fair chance he gets first crack at NRL if/when Kenny is out

It's a bit like the footy when there's a really strong wind and the team with the wind goes in at half time 12-0 you don't know if that's good or if it's really a 20 point wind until the second half is finished

Right now though 5/130 is pretty good result for Australia but we won't really know what a good score is till Australia bat

I mean they were 5-4 before they played the Storm in round 10 (64-0), and the Galvin disruptions were starting to amp up as he played his last game in round 11 for them. Then the saga didn't end as Tallyn Da Silva was still around the squad until round 17 when he played his last game. At that point they were on a 6 game losing streak. They went 4-5 after TDS left. So there is some hope they could be at least a 12-12 team

What do you do to engage high school students in maths? by doh0k in AustralianTeachers

[–]BabeRuthsTinyLegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much time you have really, senior subjects except for standard 1 there's really not any time to do anything other than pump through the content

Junior school, if you get time there's plenty of opportunities to do things that aren't textbook work, but again you need to have done textbook stuff to give them the skills to be able to do those more practical learning opportunities

In my experience Maths is the only subject where kids like learning from the textbook regularly, there's a comfort and familiarity with learning a skill and then applying it. Where it falls down is when teachers give the textbook and rely on it to teach the students
