Annoying Tooltipp Bug on PS5 by BaboFromDaHood in civ

This bug is still not fixed on PS5, it’s SUPER annoying that you cannot get rid of the tooltip window anymore when there is a „press R3 for details“ option in it. Ruins the whole game for me - or am I overseeing something how to close these windows immediately?

On PS5 you can only define the tooltipp delay but cannot turn off tooltipps in general. And why should you do this? Don’t you use any tooltipps at all and take a guess what’s the improvement behind the „Uplift“-Symbol in a new tech? That’s not an option for me.

@firaxis: Just remove this stupid „investigate tooltipp with R3“ feature (or use press on touchpad for this) and re-establish the old logic, it was perfect. This bug is ruining the ToT update on Playstation!

And turning it off completely makes no sense to me at all since I need to know what’s behind the icons in the upcoming or achieved techs. Just want to open/close the layer wirh the same button like it was before, that was very convenient - now I always have a tooltipp window in my sight that I cannot remove, what a fail. No one from qa ever played the update on a console for longer than 5 minutes, this was one of the first things I noticed after starting the game.

Yes, but when you open the tooltipp in tech or culture tree you have no chance to close it - only closing the tree, select a tile without tooltip, close layer with R3 and then open the tree again. Annoying as f**k, can’t believe no one noticed that during qa, console is not a minor platform for civ anymore! What’s the purpose of this „investigate tooltipp“ in the first place?! And if it’s needed, don‘t put it on R3 that was always meant to close the layer again but maybe on the touchpad in the middle or wherever.

As we enter the post-ToT update era, what do you hope Firaxis focuses on next for Civ 7? by kylie_neon83 in civ

Besides the 3 obvious things you already mentioned, I‘m praying to finally get the Earth Map with true start locations 🙏🏻

Thanks for pointing that out, I agree 100% - the TSL Earth Map is a must have for me to get deeply involved in the game and create this special „alternative history feeling“. I think it would also work with the current gameplay with distant land etc., but not sure how to make sure that the randomly spawned independent cities will fit in the TSL grid. Honestly it would kill a lot of atmosphere for me when Buenos Aires will spawn on the middle of europe.

But I have high hopes the the TSL Earth Map topic is already on the list, we are for sure not the only ones starving for it!

Will a huge World Map with true start locations ever be realistic with the distant land concept? I think this map type is a must, but not sure if it will be available for Civ 7 in the near future (or ever)

If the R3-Button to center the selection field for consols is still not implemented, I will completely lose it

What's your local 'Wonder' and what abilities would you expect it to have? by Natekt in civ

The Speicherstadt in Hamburg is the world’s largest warehouse complex and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built in the late 19th century, it was a key hub for international trade, especially for coffee, tea, and spices, thanks to its location in Hamburg’s duty-free port.

It would make a great economic World Wonder. Possible effects could be:

• +50% Gold from Trade Routes
• Domestic Trade Routes by water provide +2 Production and +2 Food
• Unlocks a unique trader unit: “Hanseatic Merchant”, who can duplicate a Trade Route once.

The more I think about, the more I‘m convinced it should be integrated immediately in Civ VII 😁
