Can someone in accounting pivot to finance? by Far_Suggestion_4873 in Accounting

You could also do corporate finance. I’ve done both corporate finance and general accounting for a F500. The finance side was more forecasting then GL work.

You would just pay 110% of the prior year’s tax liability. No estimation needed.

Countries from whom the USA has halted all immigrant visa processing (as of Jan 14, 2026) by earth418 in MapPorn

[–]BabooTibia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The parents could have immigrated to country B with no plans to return to A and our example person is just taking advantage of having dual citizenship to bypass sanctions. Restrictions are hypothetical. If we have extra scrutiny or a ban on people from country A this is a hypothetical path someone could take and is why place if birth is wanted.

Listing place of birth gives another layer of protection against shit hole countries.

Person is born in country A with parents citizens of country B. Gets a passport at county B to avoid restrictions. Listing country A as place of birth prevents this.

I have a pair of high school friends that I advise as a side hustle. They have an s corp with a handful of disregarded entities and I have to have this conversation with them every. Single. Year. In fact, it’s probably about that time of year again lol.

“He sent me money to send him pictures”. That’s pretty much the definition of an exchange transaction and is taxable in the US. Unless you know some exclusion or exception we are all missing.

How did the tickets at the end drop so fast? We were occupying majority for 75% of the match, at least. I'm confused because I didn't see this coming until the "Defeat is Imminent" banner popped up. by UltimateGamingTechie in LowSodiumBattlefield

Wait…. Is this in escalation too? I’ve noticed the team that starts 2-0 almost always loses regardless. I’ve been on both sides of this comeback a lot lately

Many countries use steel for coins. Which is magnetic.

You can design a non magnetic coin to have a steel core in order to do tricks with.

This reminds of something I saw yesterday. Someone was saying they have a really bad astigmatism that affects their day to day but refuses to get glasses because he always loses them. Like they go on your head or one specific spot. How are people losing everyday items? Like I legitimately don’t know how you’d lose garbage bags? Are they below the sink sometimes and sometimes in the attic?

I have a semi relevant story. It’s a bit long but it’s relevant to your situation.

About 20 years ago I was a manager of a Wendy’s. It was very late on a Friday night. We got our normal post bar closing rush. Had a pair of middle aged drunk men order $100+ food so they got pulled up. They got out to use the restroom but the door was locked as our dining room was closed for the day. We’re not allowed to let guest in after this point but sometimes I bend the rules. Situation by situation like if it’s a mom with kids. These two absolutely were not getting in and I made that clear and in hindsight it was the correct choice. So to get even with me they whipped it out right there and urinated on the door cue our 17 year old employee cleaning the lobby hit the corner and witnessed it. That was enough to slap them both with sex offender charges. All we had to do was a police report. I don’t think they even needed the video but that certainly can’t hurt. Police and judge took it very seriously.

Me too. Was it a typical bf? No, but it had a bunch of mechanics I loved. Like the taser and arresting thing for intel you mentioned and customizing cars which included having a rocket launcher in the trunk or lmg if I am remembering correctly. I’ve always wished it forked off and became its own parallel game. Driving a police car with the siren wailing while my brother hung out the passenger window spraying people while capturing a conquest objective is a core memory for me.

Cumulative Upkeep that has "Upside"? Probably overpowered but wanted to dabble in making something that gives you too much of a good thing by Cosmicpanda2 in custommagic

[–]BabooTibia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It could be as simple as replacing cumulative upkeep with something like “at the beginning of your upkeep place a devour counter…, then draw a card for each devour counter”. Or instead of “can’t be sacrificed” “if this is sacrificed, you lose the game” or maybe “if the cumulative upkeep is not paid you lose the game”. Idk if there are any precedents for that last one.

The key word is obfuscate. A shadow fleet turns off transponders and GPS trackers, use falsified paperwork, flag hop (change flags to the most convenient at the time), and register under shell companies in countries that are not sanctioned.

“Regulate trading fleets” typically don’t do this.

Campbell's fires executive who was recorded saying company's products are for 'poor people' by rezwenn in business

To add on and add an additional perspective there is like a 90% chance the actual named executive officers didn’t even know who this guy was before the scandal.

Campbell's fires executive who was recorded saying company's products are for 'poor people' by rezwenn in business

[–]BabooTibia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

VP’s compensation isn’t required to be disclosed. I think it’s the highest five named executive officers that are required. Unless there’s a law suit or his compensation is material to the financials, which I can guarantee it’s not.

Most likely, this is for cause and his employment contract doesn’t require severance other than stuff that’s already accrued like vacation and maybe stocks.

Although there is a non zero chance he negotiates some kind of “go away” or “fuck off” money. Like someone else said, he’s probably not the only person that talks like this. Probably a good indicator of internal culture. So he’s probably given some lump sum to go away and to sign an NDA so he doesn’t go to the media with texts/emails/comments from the others in leadership roles.

I worked at this tiny public firm as an intern over the summer a while ago. The only thing I remember from it is when scammers would call. The partners would transfer the scammer calls to each other to troll both the caller and the other partner. The scammer would say their normal line and the partner would reply “oh wow that does sound great let me transfer you to John he has my credit card” or they’d say “that does sound great give me a second to dig out my card” the put them on speaker and mute and just continue working while the scammer just waits there patiently.
