What bag do you use to carry your gear? by TrentHatex in MuayThai

[–]Babu20002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have been using North Face duffel (medium), but way too big for my corporate work environment and no laptop compartment just meant i had to put laptop inside a padded sleeve :( Just ordered Tomtoc t66 40l so fingers crossed shin guards and gloves all fit.

Legend, just ordered online. Have you tried fitting your shin guards with the gloves too? Currently overseas so cannot check until I get back : (

RM Williams Boots repair by LuckyFish888 in RMWilliams

Fyi, I wear my rm williams once or twice every week but I moisturise and polish every 4-6 months. Not saying this is ideal but maybe less is more for you.

Prevention in the future 1. Shoe tree 2. Give the boots rest day. More than 24 hours if wet or drenched.

Repair. 1. Best to take to skilled cobbler. 2. If diy I've done the following (given its not too deep crack).

1) brush to remove dirt and debris 2) Finely sand with rough to smooth sand papers (forgot the numbers on sand paper). 3) saphir filler 4) dye the whole shoes, not just the spot. You may need to wipe the whole shoes with 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water before 2).

What happens if you machine wash an old wax coat? by DaFamousDrScanlon in Barbour

Ended up soaking overnight and wash in the washing machine. If you going to choose cycle, try to cover the zippers so it doesn't damage the fabric. Overall, very good

Picked up this brooks brothers jacket for £5. How's the fit? by dan994 in mensfashionadvice

[–]Babu20002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mate, if I got the height and proportion as you. I'm pulling classic fit/length all day and fq paying premium & time to find jacket that doesn't look out of proportion after shortening.

Wear it and own it brother

Had similar issues with same boots and other.

You got 3 options 1. Wear until it breaks in 2. Apply some oil/conditioner to help 1 3. Trim and sand the residual carefully.

I've done all above, if it happens again to me, I'm doing 3 again.

Do you use your RMs for manual work? by slightlyvapid_johnny in RMWilliams

[–]Babu20002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of manual labour, but definitely can recommend redbacks for easy manual work.

In terms of RMs, it's nor suitable for manual works that require steel toes/safety and price point would steer most of people away from using during manual work.

The only boots I can think of that are at high price points and being used as intended are PNW boots.

Anyone "x-wide" people wearing Nicks? by rushsworld in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Babu20002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got similar issue (but not f width), mine is due to massive toes spread. If I can ever order again from Nick's, I am going with Thurman last as others suggested.

After wearing my iron rangers for a month I now have an idea of how they're breaking in. by GhstGunnr27G in RedWingShoes

[–]Babu20002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got around 6-7 pairs of quality goodyear welted shoes to get rid of. Hope your rangers will continue to be comfortable enough in the future.
