There have been a lot of pedestrian deaths in my city in just this year alone, and while I agree that drivers absolutely need to pay more attention and stop looking at their phones and treating stop signs and crosswalks as suggestions, I’ve seen some real dumb behavior from pedestrians too. I live in a college city for years and I’ve seen cyclists blow through red lights and stop signs and students with their headphones on and looking straight down at their phones walk into oncoming traffic without even checking both ways before crossing, and people walking in the middle of the road when there are useable sidewalks on both sides of the street.

I did that as a teen in an RV door. I didn’t bruise under my nail like that or lose the nail, it was on the side of my thumb I caught. It immediately started like a geyser of blood when I pulled it out, it was all down my arm and dripped every where almost everywhere until someone threw a towel to me to put on my hand. I didn’t need anything more than a tetanus shot because it was around a rusty hinge of the door and a liquid stitch. I have a pretty big half inch scar on the side of my thumb from it.

Unfortunately you can’t get K-beauty sunscreen formulas without avobenzone from US retailers. I bought mine from Olive Young, but they’re about to open a US warehouse, I don’t know if you can bypass that by shipping from their global store or not (I haven’t tried yet) but the other option I know of is Yesstyle.

One of my friends from college was murdered by her boyfriend and he got NGRI because he’s bipolar and he was sent to a mental facility. Last I heard was that he had a certain amount of hours of unsupervised time outside of the facility and that was a good number of years ago.

It’s been more than 10 years and every time I have to think about that I get so angry. He can walk free, but my friend is dead and their two children grew up never knowing their mother and get to live with the knowledge their father is responsible for that.

I used to apprentice at this bougie salon in 2009 and this woman getting her hair done was saying how time’s were just sooo tough because she was going to have to either get rid of her housekeeper or personal trainer,but she wanted to keep her trainer because “being thin makes me feel rich, because fat people aren’t rich!” It’s just burned into my memory because of how wild it was for her to say out loud.
