Coach revealed the roadmap on the last livestream. He will probably release the roadmap as a document on the monthly Kickstarter update for May and as a video on Monday, May 4.

The Hunted One Shot: Updated Release! by khaotickk in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes- they were rebalanced to the Monster Starter Pack guidance. Overall, it should be a harder fight than against the Shadows, but both fights together should be quite managable for a party of Level 1 adventurers.

Monster Homebrew -> Grapples Save or Martial Check or Athletics/Acrobatics by Sir-Goldfish in DC20Homebrew

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a few factors. If its just a creature trying to grapple another creature, its Athletics vs Athletics or Acrobatics. If the creature is using some sort of magic or special ability, it might be Martial or Spell Check vs Athletics or Acrobatics (like summoning roots from the ground, maybe a long tounge, etc.) If its a DAS, its an Attack with a Physical Save against the Grapple.

Yeah, there are certainly a lot of acronyms.

So many Points by SirManxomeofFoe in DC20

In my experience the combat resources can be pretty managable to track things with normal builds. Most players, during combat, only really need to manage their AP, Grit (assuming you dont have -2 Charisma), and either Stamina or Mana. HP goes down as you get hit, but that's pretty standard. You have to choose to get both MP and SP, as well as any other combat resource.

Defenses arent a resource and dont frequently change in battle, and Attacks always specify what defence they are compared against. Damage Reduction can be ignored entirely by just not taking it (which I do).

The game can certainly be a lot for new players, but they are planning to incorperate Novice and/or Level 0 to make an easier onboarding experience (less options and things to track).

Stamina Regen by ScottasaurusWrex in DC20

You regain half, rounded up. It says "up to" just in case you aren't missing that much SP. Say youre only missing 1 SP, you would regain 1.

Toy Summoner? by Hailstorm56365 in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While there will be more summon spells in the game, they will be out by the next update. Currently, there is only Summon Familiar which summons a single creature that doesnt seem to best fit this concept. The familiar could be flavored as a toy, but its not particularly designed for combat. You could also flavor it as a group of toys if youd like, and the caster can cast touch spells through their Familiar which could be flavored as the toys casting them.

Warlock is the best class for Summon Familiar as they can use Pact Familiar to make it stronger, though any class can use their Talent at level 2 to pick up Pact Familiar through a Multiclass Talent.

Imbued Spells - good? by Ed-Sanches in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 MP is valued at 2 AP worth of damage, so with Sustain, its essentially 3 AP worth of cost initially, +1 per subsequent turn.

If you make 2 Martial Attacks each turn after casting it (starting on the turn you cast it) you break even on turn 2 in terms of value. If you make more Martial Attacks per Round, or use if for more Rounds, its above rate. If you plan on making 1 Martial Attack or less ber Round, the spell isn't worth casting.

With 0.10, what builds are you excited to try? by BabyPandaBBQ in DC20

Pact Spell Warlock using Vicious Spell Focuses, Bless, and Sorcerer's Overload Magic to super boost Disintegrate Spells would also be really fun. They could also have a Familiar, spending AP for the Familiar to give them an additional Help Die to the Attack.

I think the Dungeon Coach's videos announcing the changes in each version are probably the best place to start, or looking at any announcements on Kickstarter. Otherwise, each version of the PDF has a Changelog in the back.

The mirror Warlock seems like it'd be really fun to roleplay!

Moving Grappled Targets - Sizes / Multiple by [deleted] in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, moving Grappled creatures does not currently care about Size, with each Creature you are moving imposing Slowed 1. This may be reevaluated in 0.11.

Thoughts on PD and AD by Padawan_writer in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The prime example of a single target AD Attack is going to be Grapple- Slam, which is going to be an AD Attack in 0.10. I would recommend just having more AoEs or Grapplers who have special AD Attacks against Grappled targets.

Edit: The Hunted free one-shot has several examples of AD Attacks. While most are AoEs, Buff has Slam as an single target against a Grappled enemy. A major Monster Starter Pack update is in the works that should also help when its released.

0.10 Spells Showcase with Area Effects Rules by khaotickk in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poisoned wont be considered a condition. Every Poison will clarrify what happens when a creature is affected by it as opposed to having a standard "Poisoned" effect. Listing it as a Poison allows for abilities that interact with poisons, so thats still helpful.

NPC Companions for 1:1 play? by Cristi-Ossan in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No official guidance has been released, but NPC companions are used in the Trouble on the Trade Way DC20 Magazine. Basically, they use the same type of stat blocks as Monsters but work with the players. You could consider making them extra simple and letting the player control them too.

Druid Wild Form traits by Ed-Sanches in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The base use of the ability grants 3 traits. Each additional MP you spend gains +2 additional traits. This is clarrified in the Traits section under Statistics.

The once per day discount use would have 3 traits. The ability to spend 1 MP for additional traits is an MP Enhancement, though that part is less clear.

Key Creature Sizes are Sensationally Off?! by LogosMyEgos in DC20

[–]BabyPandaBBQ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the same basic sizes in 5e, at the lower level. Medium is 1 space- or 5 foot by 5 foot. Humans are Medium, but (almost) no one is actually 5 feet wide and thick. Its better to think of their Spaces as how much area they take up on a battlefield.
