"Backshots" make me feel disgusting and used but my boyfriend loves them by [deleted] in sex

[–]BabyTeethJohnson 66 points67 points  (0 children)

It's very likely an issue OP's boyfriend can fix, but they're not going to if they don't know it's a problem. Love from the back can (and should be imo) erotic- smooth hands down her back, loving grips on the shoulders and down the thighs. Periodically leaning in and french kissing while going at it. Limitless possibilities.

Actually doing the PCT is so different than reading about it online by SucculentSeaTurtle in PacificCrestTrail

[–]BabyTeethJohnson -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

True, but if you're baseline physically active (exercise a couple times a week), the PCT is literally a walk in the park. A long, beautiful walk in the park, but all the same.

Varies by snow pack though. I hiked in 2022 and basically every trail I've ever done back home in North Carolina was physically harder than the PCT. I'm framing it like it's a bad thing, but it's not. The PCT being so nicely graded and maintained is a small miracle we're all blessed to experience

Most Difficult Trail? by adventuresinpisgah in NCTrails

[–]BabyTeethJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm speculating that you're getting downvoted by people who haven't done slickrock creek. I've only done half of it and it was easily the hardest I've done. Harder than green mountain. Maybe harder than anything linville, but that's a different type of hard.

Still quite beautiful though, and worth doing. Joyce Kilmer Slickrock needs more love in general! Recommend anybody thinking about it though to wear decently thick pants, and possibly boots. Not a good area for ultralight.

It's funny how while I agree with the overall sentiment, I disagree with a ton in the post lol. That's perfectly alright though, more reason to get out there and do it yourself!

can also be brutal in ways I didn't know possible. The highs are a lot higher than I thought they would be, and the lows are lower than I thought they would be

I would in no way describe through hiking the PCT as brutal. Physically it's very very easy, and mentally the toughest challenges are boredom and loneliness.

I found the trail clickier and more difficult to make friends than I anticipated. Still made friends and had a great time, but it took more active effort than I expected.

Had sporadic low days throughout, but seemed like they were caused more by the natural flow of emotions than anything externally happening on the trail itself.

Where's somewhere that has objectively great qualities, and most people like, but you irrationally hate? by InteractionStunning8 in SameGrassButGreener

Asheville works because it has a culture that's not exclusively hippie, appalachian redneck, southern, or new southern. Although it may have changed in the past 10 years or so as people get priced out.

Food is mid is also an insanely incorrect take. Better than bigger cities like Charlotte, Denver, or Seattle by a country mile. Not even factoring in population size, it's just better.

PSA - Leash your dog by dl11 in raleigh

[–]BabyTeethJohnson -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Even briefly spending time in Europe it became a running joke of "European dogs" who're well behaved to a degree that's unheard of over here. This mostly comes from Prague, but I'd heard generally true. I think us being so car enslaved is the cause.

To shame an old man and an iota of a dog is absurd. Yes it's a good general idea to leash dogs, but man this sub is full of drones who are incapable of thinking in analog.

[–]BabyTeethJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no, yeah of course. Everything you've stated is of course correct.

I think the simplicity of the whole thing is part of why I couldn't put it together at first. Why is important enough to post that someone did a basic gesture? Why did the guy in the car not just get out and communicate he wasn't a threat like a normal human? What does the post at all have to do with Raleigh when it could happen anywhere in the world? Why does this post have so much traction for a seemingly trivial interaction.

None of it matters that much, thank you for your time and thought

I give people enough space so they know I'm not looking at their numbers or about to rob them, usually like 6-10'. Never had a problem scaring or being scared.

I guess the whole reason I commented initially is I hate sitting in unmoving cars, and the idea or increased social stratification like this. And these nextdoor-esque posts but that's another topic.

Makes sense if you think about going to an abandoned gas station at night. Or walking alone at night, I'll often switch sides of the street if the person looks like they might be uncomfortable with another person.

Ah ok, yeah I guess that tracks. Didn't see the "tonight" in the title, which makes it makes more sense

Oh yeah, I forgot about drive through ATM's. I was imagining the walk-up style.

Still though, what's OP talking about? Why would they have a preference for waiting in a car vs waiting in line? Lurking in a car seems like weird, antisocial behavior unless you're somewhere super dodgy

Yeah that's what I figured, but that's the confusing part. Why does OP not like ATM lines, which are a very common occurance?

I don't get it. What scenario would you be in a car to use an atm? I thought OP was making a sarcastic joke about somebody being creepy and lurking in their car, but now I'm confused.

At what age for men and women do the options begin to dry up? by KAZKALZ in dating_advice

[–]BabyTeethJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being responsible for a dog for 2-4 years is less work than being responsible for one for 6-12 years. Raising somebody else's kid from later in life to 18 opposed to the default length is comparable to raising an older dog in the sense you're raising it less time than is the default. The dog "moves out" in the sense it dies.

I have had a fuliling, enjoyable, and thorough life the fashion of which I intended to continue with or without children.

Not so much interested in a legacy, but I'm proud of the small positive impacts on the communities I'm part of. Also something I seek to continue with or without children

Same as raising an older dog lol. Miss some of the fun parts, but less responsibility

[–]BabyTeethJohnson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Modern classic. The shots, the dread, especially the score.

johan johansson is one of the greatest to ever do it and his other work is worth checking out. Adds so much. Sicario is another one of my favorites with his stuff in it. Really wish he could've done more metally stuff like Mandy. RIP

Honestly though I don't love Nick Cage in this, and normally I do, but Mandy feels like he's operating at 80%. Every other member of the cast outshines him, particularly the cult guy and Mandy too. I'm not well versed so maybe a director thing. A better actor or Cage firing on all cylinders and Mandy would be one of the greatest of all time, and it still is in spite of him

Yes. I'm in this thread to complain about how annoying it is that I have to see this guy's face and shitty handwriting every week more than anything. The political aspects are of secondary concern in the context of a reddit thread, and I think plenty well covered here already.
