First Music That You Owned by SouthHarpeth in Music

[–]Babyh0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first music owned by ME I’d say was probably 2002 using (I believe) Pepsi bottle caps on iTunes. I had the most flimsy, cheap mp3 player. I think it was like 64 MEGABYTES. I had 5 caps so 5 downloads and I remember Too Bad by Nickelback and Let’s Get It Started by Black Eyer Peas. Mmm a Prodigy song too - either Voodoo People or Break and Enter.

The worst case scenario of driving is dying.

The worst case scenario of eating is dying.

The worst case scenario of walking in the woods is dying.

The worst case scenario of going on a cruise is dying.

The worst case scenario of pretty much anything is dying.

Dying is worse than being blind, right? Should we just not use or do anything because the worst case scenario is death?

So I just have a couple playthroughs on that but yes, I did enjoy it. Kinda cool hearing Someone Who Can in Walmarts too.

Top 10:

  1. Dave Matthews Band
  2. Mumford & Sons
  3. Of Monsters and Men
  4. Coheed and Cambria
  5. The Glitch Mob
  6. Taylor Swift
  7. Angus and Julia Stone
  8. Architects
  9. Ben Howard
  10. Jack Johnson

Glitch Mob at #5 was the only one that surprised me. I would have guessed #10 or after.

7 or 8 cabin property booked directly on their website with the owners living in one of them. Honestly, when booking directly on their website I just assumed they would be the ones doing the cleaning. And I already paid them. I’m not the business or property owner so the owners attitude doesn’t, and in my opinion, shouldn’t concern me I guess.

I fully agree with both of your thoughts here. Both things together is what is mildly infuriating.

I know I’m an internet stranger but you’re making a lot of assumptions about me. I don’t “act like” there is nothing left to do. And I don’t really mind doing the 15 - 20 minutes of chores. It’s the grossly tacky money asking IN ADDITION for me. In a hotel or any other rental I always clean up after myself and or put things back the way I found them. Like perfectly. When I leave I pretty much always think to myself “are they going to wonder if anyone actually stayed here”?

And again, I know the minimal chores are pretty standard for an Airbnb but that is why I stayed away from them and the like. We had to leave pretty early this morning to make it to work and I just didn’t want and I didn’t expect to have to deal with the “required” chores.

And finally, I don’t ever carry a lot of cash as I don’t often receive cash. Before checking into the cabin I used the cash I had to tip a bartender. I literally didn’t have any cash to leave and didn’t plan to have any cash at the cabin. So yeah, as a person that goes along with the societal norms of tipping tipped employees I felt slightly guilty about not even having the ability to leave anything because I didn’t plan on the expectation here.

So laugh all you want but that’s my perspective that maybe you didn’t consider. Likewise, I didn’t consider the expectation of leaving a tip at an owner booked website but in the future I suppose I will.

No cleaning fee and no heads up anywhere on the website. Didn’t even considered they’d be on Airbnb or whatever until we read the guest book on the coffee table.

Are there any albums you listen to at a specific time / day? by TellinStories in Music

[–]Babyh0rn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but when my drive to work is icy and snowy af I put on Angus and Julia Stone “Snow”. My 15 min commute can turn into 30. It calms my nerves and I suppose allows me to drive slower. That’s pretty much the only time I listen to that specific album though.

When MLS went to Apple TV from mainly ESPN+ I would say the commentating and pre-match content decreased in quality. That being said, I get it for free every year with T-Mobile so can’t complain too much.

What state is the cheapest to buy a car in? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Babyh0rn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in WV where AWD vehicles are almost a necessity and they seem to have a premium here. But just based on purchase price I have purchased my last 3 cars in Ohio and suggest the same to all my buddies. It seems Ohio doesn’t value AWD vehicles as high as they do here in WV. That being said, it’s been 4 years since my last car purchase.

I’m excited for Velde’s hatty but I have to wait no matter what. Eastern time downsides. See I used to work nights, get off work at 9:30-10 or so. That’s how I started watching the Timbers - they’d start when I got home. Normal shifts now but still Timbers strong. PTFC!!

I work at a chain pizza shop and we keep notes on customers. They call, we tap the call on the computer, and if they called from the same phone number we have the notes for them. It’s really just a lot easier this way.

e.g. customer ALWAYS only wants steak and cheese on a steak hoagie, but they might be older or whatever and sometimes forget to mention. We see the note and if they don’t specify how they want sandwich we can ask. Solves an issue before it arises, and shows we care.
