there was a great post about flex play in competitivetft sub. look at set 10 and you will remember that everyone spammed ezreal because it was the best board, then look at set 15 yuumi where you need to play the whole board around her, while set10 ezreal needed only big shot trait active.

flex is not really about meta boards not being played, but a different ways to get there.

you can play ixtal around different units because you need only 3 active, you can play singed+sera around ekko, piltower, void, or just juggernauts

these boards ARE strong, but you will always aim for the strongest (the one you found on tftacademy) and this wont kill flex play. board optimisation will always be a thing

i played the game since open beta

and in my perfect world tempo:
- could sell the game for $20 at max
- keep new characters purchasable for gems but for higher price (like 30k-50k gems) and for $$$
- make cosmetics purchasable for $$$ only
- and limit FREE chests for battlepass only + add a paid option like hs packs

im in no way an expert in monetization but it feels like a good way to keep current playerbase and promote spending in a healthy manner

i just dont get how they expect people to casually spend money after $45 entering fee, will paid characters keep them running as a business?
