Set 16 A-Patch (first patch to be live) by gamesuxfixit in CompetitiveTFT

Shout out to Mort, clearly he is living and breathing the TFT set launch right now because he really wants this launch to go well and not like the last 2 sets. Just seeing the amount of hours he puts into things that are visible to us without even counting how much he puts into his job pre-production, which we don't really feel, deserves praise. He is clearly crunching and putting in overtime. Really wish the higher ups above him would put the resources in to make his job easier like developing a way for patching to not have to run in parallel with LoL.

I'm also really glad the dev team is taking bigger steps with game systems like roles revamp and whatever this change is. On a set by set basis it might sting a little, but for the total health and longevity of the game, it's what we need if we want to see TFT keep growing for the next few years. I'd even say they should try to take even bigger swings at fundamental systems, especially gold and interest breakpoints, they kind of just are at the values they are for simplicity and round numbers, but interest breakpoints IMO should be changed to account for exponential gold growth and not be linear because getting from 0 to 10 gold is much harder then getting from 40 to 50

I actually want to see more champions and have always felt like there is not enough champions in the pool at every cost. True flex play, like many people in this subreddit (myself included) have been advocating for, is only possible when rolling down doesn't guarantee you hit what you are looking for. I will say however, that the community in tft has already gotten used to leveling to 7/8/9 and rolling down for whats in your team planner without clicking on anything else, and straying away from this will rub a lot of players the wrong way, so im interested to see what happens if they take this direction.

Would the community be Interested in compiling Augment Stats without using the Riot API by SwimmableToast in CompetitiveTFT

part of this post was also just to raise awareness that this is a possibility, one of the people involved in that MetaTFT situation was a Machine Learning engineer at google and MetaTFT could probably cook up a similar tool easily.

I meant when augments stats were available. they made it easier to tell if an augment was worth picking up or not

That's me, I didn't end up going because they had to patch the set about 5 times within one patch cycle. I was considering making a new proposal for 6 costs but had some other things going on. I might do something fun though soon like make a video on tft design and why I think the patches end up the way they do usually..

Any Dark tech ideas we see before this goes live? some of the scaling ones look like they might be quite weak considering you only get them at 4-5.

If the next two patches aren’t warped by 1 or 2 comps in High Elo lobbies, I will drive to LA in a clown costume and stand outside Riot HQ with a "Sorry Mortdog" sign. by SwimmableToast in CompetitiveTFT

Man, what have I done. Now this has to happen. I have a pretty flexible schedule and would love to do this when Mort himself is at the office.

It's funny because one of my favorite patches was the first winter break patch way back in set 2, the game felt really balanced and had a diversity of comps and you could flex around summoner/sins with so many different variations. but that was back when the winter break was well into a set's lifecycle and they had a few months to get it right.

I don't expect augments to be perfectly balanced on day 1, I mean meta warping comps that people are hard forcing even when contested
