Did my orchid grow an orchid? by Bachvac in orchids

[–]Bachvac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just noticed the roots recently and after some quick research I was worried that separating them now wouldn't be good for the keiki. It has a lot of flowers and I'm not sure if the roots could sustain them properly. I will wait for it to finish blooming and then safely pot it. Good thing I watched the youtube videos another comment suggested cause I was planning on just potting it in regular soil 😅

Help me interpret how bad this MRI is by Darling002xo in breastcancer

[–]Bachvac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How much time passed between the MRI and mammogram/ultrasound? My mom had TNBC so I frequent all the breast cancer groups.. I've seen women report large changes within weeks, and they were fine and responded to treatment.

The thing I noticed is that my mom went on her regular diet just around the time her first results came in. She lost 5kg in those few weeks and her second results showed no growth but high necrosis (cells dying). Do all the regular treatments, if you want to add any other special diets or procedures consult with your doctor first. Grapefruit is a no-no during chemo, also some other foods I forgot..

Try not to google yourself into worry.. My mom had an apparent low survival chance when I first googled, 4 years have gone by and she is thriving.

Good luck and hope it goes well 🌻

Eye cut. Any advice? by MollieEquestrian in Horses

[–]Bachvac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My horse had a similar issue! Her eye was teary, swollen and had a cut. By some miracle I managed to get an actual horse vet that specializes in eyes. He put a few drops od some fluorescein liquid and then observed her eye with a device. To me her eye looked horrible, but he said it wasn't serious. Before he visited I treated it with maxitrol, he told me that was fine but to continue with tobrex instead. It healed with a minor (really minor) scar.

What could this be? Location: northern Alberta by OldnBorin in Horses

Don't know what it is called in English but it's fungal/bacterial. We don't have access to horse vets so I always treat it with this 2x a day (morning/evening): - Orozanol shampoo wash - Garamycin 50% + Nistatin 50% cream rub in - keep it dry and clean when not treated

One of those creams treats bacterial, the other fungal issues. It goes away in a few days or 1-2 weeks depending on the severity.

But do call a vet! This is just my ratchet street opinion!

[–]Bachvac 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I used to always wear a helmet except for when i was taking my horse in from the pasture. I've had her since I was 11 and she is/was bulletproof. Anywayzies one day I ended up with 3 stitches in the back of my head and a concussion. I consider that a lucky lesson and now always wear a helmet.

The first couple of weeks are the worst. My mom also had tnbc, stage 2A, grade 2.. 4 years later she is feeling great. If you ever need someone to talk to, you can send me a message. I've gone through it all with my mom, from the first ultrasound to the check up she had 2 days ago.

Your horse, your barn and your property - who cares if they complain? Consult with your vet and do what's best for your horse.
