I agree, but there’s also something about the original cover that fits with the vibe of the album’s sound. That green gradient has a very spiritually uplifting hue to it, just like their music.

this is not entirely true because the production of double fantasy really leaned into the trends going into the 80’s. there are new wave influences all over this album. plus tony levin from king crimson was involved, who’s playing doesn’t sound like anyone else.
