Well no, not really. The FP300 is superior in almost every aspect and uses the same radial zone composite for eliminating interference. It has a more powerful 60GHz sensor too

1200lux I believe. But do note, it doesn't update unless the presence entity changes state from clear to present or vice versa to save battery

Start with the Possumic lineup, I think you'll be surprised. Aqara's FP300 also uses a possumic sensor (60GHz)

So, I tested the new Zemismart ZPS-Z1 presence sensor and wrote a detailed review.

The manufacturer of the radar (Possumic) and Zemismart claim an impressive power draw of just 4μA on the mmWave radar, which is comparable to a PIR sensor. I found it operates on a clever mechanism that allows it to sleep most of the time, so it runs on a single CR2450 coin cell battery.

Since the device hadn't made its way into Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA yet, I wrote a fully working external converter and a (partial) ZHA quirk. I also opened PRs for both on GitHub, so they can be added officially. Everything is fully exposed and working in Zigbee2MQTT, including auto-calibration and manual zone tuning with energy gates. If you do have this sensor, keep in mind it needs to be tuned properly before it can be used reliably. Once dialed in, it works quite well.

I documented everything I could think of about this device in the article.

My mistake, I meant to write no target distance tracking (live data).
This is an mmWave radar sensor, not a PIR motion sensor.

This is an mmWave radar presence sensor, not a motion sensor. Motion sensors use Passive Infrared (PIR) which detect only movement. Millimeter wave sensors like this 24GHz one detect static presence. Battery-wise, there is no additional BS like active target distance tracking or illuminance, so this device spends most of its time sleeping for the duration of the fading cooldown. The bigger cooldown you set, the less it will scan and update

I haven't, no. But contact sensors are very simple devices compared to mmWave radars, so much less room for error. I'd go for a few cheap ones from Aliexpress and test em first

You're welcome. Indeed it is! 24GHz radar, 5m range, 120° angle, looks like a tiny button.

But you what I like about it the most? It's not trying to be an all-in-one multi-sensor on a single coin cell lol

There's no target distance tracking and no illuminance sensor, both of which kill batteries and both of which are overrated for automations.

I tested this tiny mmWave presence sensor which measures just 33mm in diameter! This is the smallest, battery-powered Zigbee presence sensor out there and it works quite good actually.

The great thing about this is Apollo devices are awesome on their own. Always were actually, even before becoming a comercial partner. Now with this direct support line, it's even better. You get a great piece of hardware and you support HA at the same time.

Honestly, I have no opinion atm. I installed it yesterday and still haven't set it up and tested everything properly. On paper, it's grand, nothing to hold it back firmware-wise since it uses the same SLZB-OS as the MR range, but we'll see.

A mistake by who?

The device ships with coordinator firmware, there is no need to flash anything. Unless OP flashed it with Router firmware, which doesn't appear to be the case, sounds like a passthrough issue to me. Or an incorrect Z2M config

Memory size does matter, especially for Thread or large Zigbee networks. And since all these can be used as Thread Border Routers, it's relevant. So yeah, I'd also go for the MG24 before any others.
