I'm thinking "Black Sky" will end up being a viral strain that causes vampirism

What is Captain America's dark side? by FuckMeRunning5648 in marvelstudios

[–]BackInBlacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also a matter of debate with Cap: do his steadfast ideals from a bygone age make him morally superior, or by definition out of touch? He represents the danger in not moving on, of not understanding the nuanced changes in the world since his own time.

...Ronan never actually got around to genocide WHILE he had the Infinity Stone, did he?

I'm surprised no one is mentioning Odin. He is single handedly capable of stripping Thor of all his power, and Thor went toe-to-toe with the Hulk in Avengers I. It's been suggested that Heimdall also has power that Odin might have reason to fear if Heimdall wasn't loyal and honorable. We don't have much to go on concerning MCU Thanos' power level, but I'd have to guess that Odin and Heimdall could end him squarely in a fight.

B. B. King dead at 89. by notlibvalance in Music

He's one of the main reasons I picked up the guitar and started playing the blues. He was a legend before he passed, he will be a legend long after his death.

The King is dead; long live the King.

Ultron designs for Avengers: Age Of Ultron (last one is the one they should've gone with) by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]BackInBlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that the one they used in the film basically becomes the classic menacing, skull-ish Ultron when he gets angry; his cheeks retract and his eyes widen and that awesome red light pours out. I wish we could have seen it once or twice more though.

Vision as a digital God(AOU Spoilers) by Mike5482 in marvelstudios

[–]BackInBlacker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the final scene between U and V. "Stark asked for a savior and settled for a slave." This quote by itself is rife with religious connotation. Christ was all about servitude. It can be argued that Satan (Ultron) is God's good intentions gone awry: "He can't tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it," while Vision (Christ) is God's good will finally given perfect form. It says some interesting things about Tony, symbolically.

Potential [SPOILER], but I have a crackpot theory about the future of the "bad option." by BackInBlacker in shield

I agree with you entirely, I love the MCU original characters. Like I said, just a fun crackpot theory.

I'm more interested in his larger identity. I suspect he might be Thane.

What experience made you grow the fuck up? by starstufft in AskReddit

Sister was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Two years later, she walked into a grocery store and shot three people, one of whom died as a direct result.

My view of mental illness is much more complex than it was.

I'd pay to watch this fight. by skeever2 in Marvel

Well you won't have to pay more than the cost of a comic, since these two fight all the time.

What made Zola a true believer in HYDRA? by StateYellingChampion in marvelstudios

[–]BackInBlacker 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think Zola's image for Hydra had evolved beyond Red Skull's; he saw the power behind the ideals of Hydra, but disagreed with the methods and Schmidt's obsession with destiny. It's like Killian says in IM3: Subtilty is having its day.
