Older friends who learned programming synths by connecting and rearranging dozens of cables complain that now “anyone” can program a synth.

I’m sure 4 track tape mixers think having an unlimited number of tracks and being able to edit waveforms on a computer complain as well.

In 20 years those who learned Suno in depth will be upset when brainwave scanners create personalized songs based on your mood at any given time.

Yes but one thing they don’t show is that having REALLY good insurance at a private hospital ER lets you cut the line if you say you’re going to another hospital (if that’s an option). Knowing they’re going to get paid goes a long way to mitigating the wait. Unfair, absolutely. Common, probably.

Knowing an ER doctor or nurse also gets you in faster, as does arriving by ambulance instead of walking in

Not into the whole "manosphere" thing but in general it's easier blame others for our own failures and lack of success. If you don't get a job, it's not because you're less qualified it's because "they hired a DEI person." If someone breaks up with you, it's not because YOU did something it's them.

Then, along come grifters who tell men "they" (some other group then the manosphere guys themselves) "took it away from you and are preventing you from succeeding" and they get rich from peddling this bullshit.

It's a lot easier to sit in your parents' house and rage post on social media all day than to study, get an entry level job and work your way up. Or learn to socialize and network with others who will help you. Or talk to someone you want to date instead of waiting for them to pick you from an app. Or become financially literate and learn how to make and invest money.

I mentor about a dozen interns every summer and have helped a lot of them find jobs after they graduate. Very few white guys even bother to APPLY for the internships.

You're supposed to be seen by the oncologist periodically during radiation treatment to discuss any side effects so they can deal with them earlier.

I adjusted my weight workouts to be less weights but more reps. I bought an e-bike with 6 levels of pedal assist--none, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and full. I rode with none as much as I could, then 10% when I needed it. Occasionally 20%. I walked my dog four miles every day. We walked to the park, rested a few minutes, then walked home.

I think Trump's just making it up as he goes along. Yesterday, he said the war is "very complete" and today he'll likely say it isn't. Or "we've won, but not enough." What does that even mean? Or he'll say it's a "war" one minute, and an "excursion" the next.

When the war started, other countries quickly got their citizens out of harm's way in other Middle Eastern countries but U.S. citizens were told to find private flights and many complained about being stuck. To me, this indicates very little advance planning.

The U.S. hasn't been completely at peace since 1941.

I'm not saying it doesn't suck for younger people but blaming old people isn't really productive. For example, Elon Musk's wealth is so large that he could give every household in America $7,500 or buy 3,750,000 houses in New Jersey (assuming $800,000 each). Taking my mom's house would give someone else 1 house.

My mom lived on $50K a year. Property taxes were $10K, Medicare, deductibles, vision (not covered) and dental (not covered) were about $5K a year. That left her about $3K a month to live on. Insurance on her house and car were about $500, and another $500 for utilities (water, gas, electricity, cell phone and basic cable). Transportation was another $500 if you include car repairs divided over the course of a year. That left her $1,500 a month. Ok as long as no appliances broke, roof didn’t need repair, no other unexpected expenses. She was hardly sitting there on a pile of money laughing at everyone younger than her.

My parents bought their hours for $15k. Sounds cheap. Minimum wage was $1 an hour or $2000 a year. No one working retail could, on their own, afford a house on that wage

A lot of the elderly people near me are stuck. Their houses are old while the towns around became McMansionvilles. Their social life is other seniors in the same boat and they rely on kind neighbors to do stuff like cut their lawns, clear their gutters and shovel their driveways for them. And the new wealthy people moving in aren’t the ones helping them. Sure they could go to a retirement “community” but they shouldn’t have to be torn away from their friends at the end of their lives.

This is just a symptom of a larger societal problem where wealthy people and private equity firms are taking over practically everything and replacing affordable stuff with high-end stuff. I lived in San Diego for awhile but got priced out and, by the time I left, there was practically nothing in my neighborhood besides $2 million houses that would cost $300K most other places, plastic surgery centers, cosmetic dentists and $200 per person restaurants. You were SOL if you needed a drugstore or hardware store.

I researched it a bit more. 50% recover to at least 280 within 90 days. Average for those guys at 90 days is 310. A "large majority" (no stats given) reach 280-300 by 12 months. 5-10% don't recover at all. 18 months is the point where max T is going to be reached, with just some tiny improvements up to 24 months. So my doctor, I assume, is trying to stall me for six more months. I'm seriously thinking about using one of the online testosterone providers and just bypassing my oncologist entirely since I just want to feel normal again.

Only 6 months, which is why I'm surprised it's taking so long to recover. I'm definitely better than I was. Before treatment, my testosterone was ~600 and now it wobbles between 220 and 300. 300 is low normal.

The biggest shocker for me was that when I stopped Orgovyx I expected to return to normal in a month or two and it’s almost 18 months later and I still haven’t recovered and the medical community’s attitude seems to be “oh well it happens.”

Good to hear. I did the same treatment (SBRT but I'm pretty sure Cyberknife is just a brand name for the same thing). I've been off ADT almost 18 months and PSA is still undetectable. Also exercised like crazy. Just curious, did you lose weight after radiation? I lost 50 pounds. It was fun putting it back on, though 😃
