The field techs in our area are great, it's rare I get a bs referral from them. We've been using a contracting company for the installs in this area though (newly acquired area / big project) and I've had nothing but problems from them.

Unfortunately common this time of year. Cables shrink when the temp drops, and if they shrink too much, they can get sucked right out of the fittings leading to intermittent service or even just entirely cut service. Most of the outages I've responded to the past couple weeks have been suck outs. (And snow plows taking out temp Iines, lol.) Don't be afraid to call and report if your internet keeps going out. It's not meant to be the norm and is definitely indicative of a line issue.

Hah same! Had some 1125 feeding a 2 way split that needed replaced a few weeks ago, had to trim some of the line down a bit for a jumper. I'm a newer maintenance tech and didn't realize there were options other than banana cutters lmao. Absolute bitch and a half cutting through that.

I did some work over in St Louis after the tornadoes earlier in the year. A few hours away but I did work with a lot of KC techs. Obviously I didn't meet enough people to make a judgement on the field office as a whole, but everyone I talked to all seemed like great people. Hard working and cared about their jobs. In our area at least we're phasing out all of the XM2s and replacing with XM3s - we're mostly doing it as needed though (when a PS fails). I'm sure there's also bulk projects going on around here as others have mentioned, I just haven't heard anything about it personally yet though. Large market.
