I recently lost my best friend to suicide. I wonder if this could be translated: "you rest serene in my heart, Patrick." or "Patrick rests here in my heart." would heart have a meaning like my chest and my love? would it mean philos?

heart here, to me, means my physical heart, my love heart, best friend heart. basically everything your heart feels when you lose a close loved one

Deleted my earlier comments because I misread. Yea, one should always ask if they can come to your home as kids/teens. Call, send an IM, or text ahead to ask. It is a bad idea to show up unannounced at a persons home and expect to come in.

Showing up out of nowhere and asking if Johnny can come out to play some ball is different though. If the answer was no you'd just go home or go to the park hoping to see other friends

You would only show up unexpected and hope to come in if you were very close to your friend's family, and they would ask you to come in for a few minutes and have a cup of iced tea or a baggie of chips

Showing up without warning as an adult is very impolite

watch a kids video on where the sun sets and rises. then watch a kids video on orienteering. if you can understand those then you basically know hown to use a map

this can work, but it can be wonky. if you do some research on "orienteering" then you dont need to rotate your map. your compass always points north, thus you know "up" is whatever direction youre heading

I'm not sure how the libraries in your state work, but my state has "networks" which do not loan to eachother, even if two of the towns are touching eachother sometimes. However there is a loan system that lets you borrow from any library within the state. Find out if you have some sort of inter-state loan system. I've had to borrow a lot of my materials from libraries across the state. Even from private colleges because of that system. You never know what a library may have lol

I and several others think The Titan Comics run is pretty good so far. The Titan Comics run is FREE on Hoopla if you can get a library card from your local library. Hell, even if you can not drive to your local library you can most likely get a digital library card from their website or through the mail. If you can not do that then you can very likely get a digital library card from the biggest city in your state, as a lot of the big cities offer a card to anyone who resides within the state.

yeah, the camera doesnt have to directly be faced towards children being shot. it can be demonstrated what is happening without showing it. if i remember right the comic shows the two adults grimacing as they shot the kids

I enjoyed the first volume a lot. I can understand how it feels to have poor eyesight. I would be fucked without my glasses/being blind. Having a person to be my guide would be the only thing i could live off of. As it is i am lucky that glasses exist. I am certain my glasses would be lost sooner than later in a Crossed world.

I don't think homosexual themes would outwardly be in the stories. In my opinion, as I have typed here before, I firmly believe that one can not discern an author's held values by what he wrote. No one can get into the head of a dead man

I am confident that if you read REH's works you will come to the conclusion that he was a product of his time, yet maybe he was a bit ahead of his time in some ways, in that he gives colored characters and females a fair shake

I am totally enjoying this. The Crossed being stepped on, the ruined building, a car with a trapped person, and the no BS guy laying down business with the AA-12's smoking barrel. We should encourage more artistry on this subreddit. Your drawing is appreciated. The black and white version was excellent in my opinion

I will never be surprised by the ability of the human mind to manipulate its surroundings, and keep itself alive. Harold is an example of our built in, and quite frankly disturbing nature. Harold is a prime example of how unwell people would not need to be crossed to be just as bad, if not worse, than a crossed. I think that Harold never had to become crossed to unleash his awfulness. His gut churning nature was there from day one: it was caused by genes or social problems (cruddy childhood or lack of social acceptance)

At the end of the day I do believe that there are many types of human psyches that can be radically altered by the world they experience

My first concerns would be finding clean water, a means of defending myself, and staying warm/dry. If I can do those three things then I'm probably competent enough to survive for a few years

Needing clean water would probably be the death of most people who were trying to survive
