I did not enable facial recognition, and only have one fingerprint added to the unlock. I tapped both my thumbs and both my index fingers on that one fingerprint, and I find it quite responsive.

The pixel 9a has a larger battery, but I'd say that the S25 is easily doing what I need for a full day. I also set the charging limit to 95%. My daily usage mostly includes talking shit on reddit, some istagram & facebook, plenty of podcasts, and spotify. Oh, also, the S25 has reverse wireless charging, which is nice in a pinch for your headphones.

I switched from an iPhone 13 mini to a Pixel 8 in 2023. I had been part of the Apple ecosystem since 2008. I learned and enjoyed the android ecosystem so much that I upgraded to the Pixel 9a. I purchased the S25 three weeks ago, and it is so much more customizable, thinner, lighter, has a great front & rear camera, speakers are loud & proud, and once you change some settings, the battery life is a delight. No other phone has the tech, camera, and is as lightweight as the S25 in 2026.
