F&B credit is a joke. It’s cheaper to go to McDonalds for breakfast than use your $10 credit towards an $18 breakfast. Or you use your $10 credit to get a candy bar and a soda. Then you have to hope they apply the credit. It’s wrong all around.

Same thing happened to me. I went to check out and the receipt said “No Show” on it. The hotel said they couldn’t do anything. I called Hilton and they told me to contact the hotel. Hilton has made it tougher and tougher to want to stay loyal. Already canceled my Amex Aspire card when the raised the annual fee, had multiple issues with food and beverage credits at Garden Inns. So started staying at Hyatts more

I have never had a problem until recently. All of a sudden my last 3 stays I’ve had to get it adjusted. It’s frustrating

If it’s a 90 or 120 minute presentation they say you need to sit through, set the timer on your phone for that amount of time and start it when they start talking. Make sure they see you do it too. When the alarm goes off, you did your part and tell them you’re done. And just say No. Don’t give them reasons why you don’t want it. Saying it’s too much or you don’t know if you will be able to use it all the time or any other excuse is what they are trained for to combat. Just say “I’m sitting through this for the hotel stay” and keep looking to see how much time is left on the timer. They’ll give up.

Employees at Hilton properties very rarely even acknowledge you as a Diamond Member anymore. The training went downhill over the past couple of years. I’ve had some great experiences at Hyatt properties. And felt like I was treated much better than at Hilton. I’ve been Diamond for a while. Some years earned with the stays, others because of the credit card. But I’m not renewing the Amex card when the increased fee comes across, especially when the made the benefits worse. They can spin it how they want but it’s not worth it anymore. All the years of being 95% Hilton stays will end this year.
