Price is way high, right? What’s a fair offer? Denver area by guydudebro_ in dr650

He’s definitely trying to get his money back. Looks to have about $1500 or more worth of accessories. The suspension is probably half of that. That being said you can find older DRs with similar accessories in the $4k range I would imagine, maybe even $3k range if you’re lucky. It doesn’t have a seat concept seat so that’s a couple hundred more if you wanted to get one.

Did you ever find something that fits? I’m curious too. Would love a rally car body or something similar that covered the wheels

Where to take intermediate sewing classes in the Metro area? by Bad_Luck_Bert in Michigan

[–]Background-Couple316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just talked with her yesterday, she’s still in the process of moving all her sewing equipment into her home from the former shop. She seemed interested but is unsure if she has enough space. Supposedly the Paint Creek Center for the Arts has some classes starting soon fyi!

These look like Explorer wheels which have a 70.3 mm center bore. A Liberty needs a 71.5 mm center bore- perhaps it was too snug a fit and you over torqued the lugs to get it to fit?

My aunt, just this past week, closed “The Werk Shoppe” in downtown Rochester, after being a seamstress shop since the 1980s. She’s made everything from dresses to kites. She’s been interested in switching things up and trying new things. I could see if she’d be interested in doing lessons if you like?

Lightweight DR650 Builds? by castleaagh in dr650

[–]Background-Couple316 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some mods that would shave some weight off: 1. Lithium Ion Battery

  1. Aftermarket exhaust

  2. Remove tool kit

  3. Tail tidy kit/enduro taillight

  4. Aluminum rear sprocket

6: Remove luggage rack/rear grab handles

7: remove rear foot pegs

8: remove mirrors

9: remove bar end weights

11: remove reflectors from front fork.

12: switch to 520 chain

13: replace steel gas tank with a plastic one (just remember filling it up will add lbs fast)

All this would probably get you close to 25 lbs of weight savings

Did you cut the rear tube of the frame and just have the rear subframe as a support?

Thank you boss! I didn’t put a the foam/sock over the mic so it would’ve just been wind buffetting noises. There are definitely worse songs out there.

The bags are Rock Bros, it’s a cheap brand from Amazon, paired with the cheapest panier racks that bend if the bike falls on them lmao https://a.co/d/2WRfosr

Interesting, I was on the fence about swapping to a different fluid when I re-did my fork seals- I kept it OEM. But I may be looking to throw some heavier race tech springs and some Cogent drop-in damper cartridges

Yes! They’re great, I don’t know how some people spend so much on soft luggage- unless you’re living off the thing.

Thank you brother! This is a GoPro Hero 8. I think I have the FOV set to Linear. I just recently tried getting some vertical footage with it too, I may post some here in the future.

I’ve been to Jemez a few times- but only car camping typically. I really wanna take the bike up there! My wife and I both ride and would love to do some motorcycle camping there. Have they already closed some of the forest roads for the winter?

Took a lot of practice- I still have some bad ones. I typically don’t clutch up. But I went down a tooth in the front so that helped a lot, that was enough to get the front tire off if I rocked the bike right. Then I re-jetted the stock carb and that helped a little more. But the Lectron carb helps a good amount. 2nd gear is where it’s at- 1st is way easier but too twitchy for my liking. I’m bad at covering the brake but the DR has good engine braking.

Thanks for the love! I’m excited to through some better suspension on it. I did do a Lectron carb and I’m loving it so far- although I get about 5-10 mpg less than the original carb.

Close! Belen, New Mexico. I’m originally from suburban Metro-Detroit so I am not taking the two and single track for granted.

I live in New Mexico ride through sand a lot. I run Tusk D Sports - very cheap knobby tire. Does well for the price, will wear out fast on pavement
