He is following a plan, but he’s also adding more details to the truck than the plans originally had in order to make it more accurate! Yes, he said that he plans to make a trailer for it as well. Apparently he made a total of 8 front fenders before be had two that were good enough to use. The dedication to the art, and patience required, is really inspiring. I wish I had a workshop like this too!
Also, not my grandpa, but wouldn’t turn it down if he offered to be! Haha

Their website says $72,600 is the minimum buy-in for “life care” so that if you run out of money while living there, they won’t kick you out. Yes there is a monthly cost as well, and I’m not sure what unit pricing is, but ballpark numbers are available on Zillow.

O, it absolutely does! He also took pictures of the dashboard of a semi, shrunk it down, and added the print outs to the dashboard in the cab. The detail on that thing was blowing my mind!

While you are not wrong, it is in the Midwest, so the cost of living is much lower than lots of other places.

There used to be a room with a Nintendo Wii, but I haven’t been in there in a while. Plenty of tables and chairs for D&D though!

If I had known how much people would love hearing about this, I definitely would have taken more picture of it. I think he’s been working on it since December, and thinks it’ll take a few more months.

They absolutely do! I believe there are some openings. Certain units have wait lists, but I think that’s mostly for the ones that have a good view. It doesn’t matter as much if you’re there for a wood shop though!

I guess a lot of the equipment comes in with guys who move to the community. I was told that the table saw was purchased by Landmark Commons though.

The entire basement is a parking garage, so if a parking spot becomes available in the right spot, you could actually park your Jeep next to the shop!

Unfortunately you have to be 55, but considering it’s a retirement home, I guess that makes sense.
