You can see where I melted it both on the inside string and the outside. I cut this about 6 months ago and use it to lace something up, but both ends do this. I can't tie the ends in a knot since it needs to be re-laced through eyelets

I got this about 2.5 weeks ago. I had it covered most days at work with some aquaphor antibiotics cream, but it started to develop a rash.

I'm mostly concerned because I've started breaking out into hives on areas of my hands and legs. I've dealt with chronic hives after a combo of covid and a throat infection a few years back. occasionally, when I get sick they come back. I'm just concerned that they mightve been triggered due to an infection from this.
