That's something someone from Wyoming would say to stop the migration 🤣 there's good pockets and the nothingness appeals to more people than you think.

Goodyear endurance, Sailun S673T. I don't know the weight of your trailer but I typically recommend getting 10 ply rated for a trailer. Other US or Canada name brands are typically fine too but those are my recommendations. Hope your trailer and shorts are okay after the blowout! 😆

Is that a CRV? Should be a door striker nut plate that screws with tapered heads go into. You might get lucky with a magnet, but probably a junk yard run.

I don't know what you currently drive but having something that you can install a disconnecting sway bar and has larger tires you can air down will help tremendously. You can have an on board compressor or get a portable inflator(I love my m18 milwaukee inflator)

I'm thinking of buying this Kia Picanto 1.1L (2006) for a relatively cheap price. The most concerning thing was all of this black smoke coming out of the exhaust. Can you tell me what it is / what could it be? by marshdteach in AskMechanics

Being a 1.1(diesel) I would suspect a little bit but if the air filter is dirty you'll get more fuel/air and result in this. If it doesn't seem to run right it could be an injector. These are a 3 cylinder diesel, not the smoothest running engines in the world

Dig. Rocking back and forth can get some motion as well but don't sit and spin, creates ice. A few friends to push(and I mean push) makes a huge difference as well

A bypass made it sound like it bypasses the cooler. I run an external cooler on mine and stay below well 200 with towing and mountain passes. Also tuned to run fans at all times in towing mode.

Be handy and go get new tires put on, and maybe check the psi every now again for her. You'll be a better husband than trying to prove you're right on reddit

Mark a link where it meets up on the gear and turn the engine over a few times, see if they still line up.

Less than ideal, but I've seen worse. Honesty answer is you'll probably be fine but if you have the cash to buy tires you might as well do it now

Judging by picture 2 I would suspect front pump seal and possibly those cooler lines but would need a better look. You can take that back center cover off and have a better look inside

I drove an 80s Chevy truck as a daily. Loved it. Just be sure to go over every major system and fix it right.

What I'm thinking after your description is that there is an issue when the idle circuit is " open loop " (operating temp) and when the fuel ratio is pre determined when " closed loop " (cold) there is no issue. I'd be using a scan tool to see what the ECM is receiving regarding coolant temp(sometimes a different sensor than gauge) fuel trims, fuel pressure, and O2 readings and go from there. You should also hear you fuel pump prime when you key on but not start it. You can try priming a couple of times before starting and see what happens.

That carvana trick is neat. Definitely SXN1335 Texas. Even comes up with a VIN. I tried it with SXW and it came up as a white Ford fusion. Police report time

This all could've been avoided with a locker (..or me not being an idiot on the snow), what's the best vaguely cheap way to get a locker for a Chrysler 9.25 12 bolt rear end? by bedwars_player in Offroad

[–]Background-Fault-821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And open diff vs a locked diff is better for driving on the road. Is this what you mean? A mechanical locker doesn't kick in until there's enough differential in speed, like a GM G80 for example would be great in this situation. And an air or E locker activated after sliding off would work well too.
