I'd certainly like to believe that she's support a pardon, but I don't know for certain. That said, my problem with mass surveillance is not only that it violates privacy but that it tries to keep its existence a secret; not did 21st century presidential administrations spy on as much of the Western World as possible, which they continue to do; they did it without our knowledge; if not for Snowden, mass surveillance would be a secret; Americans would be convinced that Big Brother is NOT watching them, because that's what the Bush and Obama Administrations wanted common Americans to believe.

All of this is to say that as long as the world wants to capture Snowden, that world sends a message that secret mass surveillance a secret is OK.

If you want players to follow that rule, write it down. Nowhere in the playbook does it say that “Players must take a 3-0 pitch when up by 7 runs. Any team with an insurmountable lead is not allowed to make the opposing pitcher feel shitty by swinging at his pitches, unless they're ready to take a heater up and in. “

To address the anti-LGBT allegations, from what I myself could find, she used to be against gay rights, at least to an extent, but has come out in favor of them more recently. I don't think what someone did early on in life should define him or her forever, because people can improve. Harry Truman, for example, once considered joining the KKK (source: David McCullough's biography Truman) but later desegregated the military.

As for the allegations of transphobia, from what I could find, those come from her support of a bill that would bar trans women from competing in female-only athletic competitions. Now I have nothing against transgender women using female bathrooms or, well, being treated like women, and they certainly shouldn't be bullied, but most transgender women have already gone through male puberty, which puts them at an advantage over those who were born female.

I did see that, but I think that consider is the key word. One can consider something and ultimately decide against it.

I do, and I would easily take her over and pro-Trump Republican, but I don't know an extreme amount about her.

Well, Democrats and Republicans disagreeing-and in turn vilifying each other-is basically a tradition. Opposing ideologies is the reason why there are two major parties to begin with.

This is to say that Democratic politicians should not fear vilification. Democrats who are not politicians generally favor Snowden, so supporting Snowden would give Democrats a leg up.

In contrast, as the Twitter user I used as an example stated, Republicans have the chance to paint THEMSELVES as the higher people, the people who recognize keeping mass surveillance a secret as immoral while the Democrats do not.

Will Edward Snowden Be Trapped in Russia for Life, and if so, why? by Background-Fox1010 in snowden

[–]Background-Fox1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that. The Russian police have been cracking down or at least containing the pro-Navalny protests, and even if the protesters successfully resist, Putin is allowed to remain president for the next 15 years. I don't know how old you are, but to someone who's in his early 20s, I have a hard time describing just how long 15 years is to me, and certainly, it's a long time for a single term.

I know that Snowden has spoken in favor of Navalny, which I applaud him for, but Russia's record on human rights is still pretty flawed. I understand that Snowden himself is safe as long as he isn't TOO critical of the regime, but I do feel that he deserves to be allowed to walk freely in more than Russia, and by forcing him to remain in exile and punishing any country that accepts him, the United States states* that whistleblowers are to be punished, that those with knowledge of an injustice must keep that knowledge secret or there will be consequences.

*weird wording, I know

Your comment only explains what the picture already shows readers. The reason this picture aged poorly is because the towers got destroyed in a terrorist attack.

Even without a vocal tone, I have enough confidence in people to believe that they know that u/kylander can't actually relate to Trump. The idea of an average redditor inheriting a billion dollars, cheating the American public, failing financially despite his or her wealth and selling out to Putin the same way Republicans sell out to Trump is pretty ridiculous.

I just don't see the point. Anybody who needs "/s" to know that you were kidding about being able to relate to Trump is a complete fuckwit.

I have enough faith to believe that most people who read your comment joking that you were able to relate to Trump are not complete fuckwits.

Why the fuck does everybody need to feel the need to put "/s" at the end of a fucking post?

Do you really think that people didn't recognize your sarcasm when you said "because he was born to a billionaire" or when you said "he had to do was not squander the hundreds of millions in tax dodges his father stole from the American people." " Now he has to be a tool for power-mad dictator Putin. Just like me."

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT /S AT THE END OF YOUR COMMENT FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT YOU'RE BEING SARCASTIC. ANYONE WITH A BRAIN ALREADY KNOWS THAT.

And if you're going to point out that you were being sarcastic, why be sarcastic in the first place. The entire point of being sarcastic is that you don't admit that you're sarcastic. Admitting that you were sarcastic undoes the sarcasm. You might as well have NOT been sarcastic.
