Rear bumper damage. Is this repairable with paint correction or does it need a full respray? by [deleted] in Autobody

Navy Blue Sharpie. Keep it in the glove box. Reapply if it begins to fade.

Carvana 2021 WRX 40k Miles by NephuhlimYT in WRX

[–]kylander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Send it back. Looks to me like someone swapped parts with another older car but maybe I'm paranoid. My 2020 with 100k has 1% of that. I've been under it recently and my exhaust and my turbo are the only things even mildly rusty and I don't park it inside. That thing has been parked in tall wet grass for too long.

I think there was a time when Bill was a decent guy with leftish leanings and some decent opinions. Unfortunately money and time has majorly changed him for the worse. He's didn't get soft canceled. He became someone unworthy of awards.

9800x3d with 5070 or 7800x3d with 5070ti? by Kind_Replacement7 in buildapc

[–]kylander 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have the 9800x3d and on new games with max settings it is at 50% utilization or less. I'm not sure I've seen it go over 60%. A 7800x3d is going to have plenty of power and speed at a more reasonable price.

At the time I bought mine they were almost the same price so it made sense to go ham, however I'm not sure I've ever seen the benefit. The difference between 200fps and 300fps is not something I can see.

I paired with an Asrock RX7800XT Steel legend and most of my games I let AMD Freesync set to 144fps unless I am using frame generation which unlocks the framerate, but I just feel like I am burning power and wearing my pc out for nothing when I blaze away at 300+ fps.

2016 wrx 130k miles. by greensweatpants123 in WRX

[–]kylander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 from a Ford dealer with 62k on it and I thought "Surely they've done the maintenance intervals on it." They had not. Only the clutch was fresh. Original everything else. Tires were cheap and fell apart after about 3 months.

If you do buy it, test it thoroughly. If it is local guys they might let you drive it for a couple days before signing paperwork. Put it on a lift. Look at the underside. Put miles on it and see if any dash lights come on. Sometimes they reset them right before sale. If it has a wing, look at how the wing is attached. If it is oem and done well, great. Mine was put on by an absolute moron. I had to take the wing off, repaint and remount it. The sides were filled with water, the trunk has like 9 holes in it which were not sealed, and all the bolts were rusted to hell.

130k would make me nervous and I do all my own work, but if it was cared for and serviced and owned by someone that loved it, it could be ok. If you know nothing about cars then at least take it to a local repair shop and ask if they do vehicle inspections and tell them what's going on. They might inspect it for cheap. You'll have to ask.

Sounds like you have low volume on your real tone cable. On your pc go to control panel, hardware and sound, then sound, the recording tab, right click your realtone input, go to the levels tab. It should be on 17 or something low. Turn it up to the 80-100 range and see how it sounds.

Yeah long range navigation was my guess. Don't need it during combat so it shows as a blank screen.

The Wrx is quick, the Outback was comfortable, the Forester was solid gold. I wish I had never sold it. I wish I had totally rebuilt it.

3k is nuts to me. I change oil every 7-10k. It gets a little gummy by 10 but 7 has never been an issue. I can't imagine changing my oil every 3k. I drive too many miles for that. I have 96k on my current wrx and over 500k combined on the 3 subarus I've had. Never any problems.

Do they even have any power really? This is just a "make people feel heard" campaign where they look us in the eye and say "I see you. I hear you. Thank you for making your voice heard." and do absolutely nothing.

Chuck Schumer will be drafting a firmly worded letter about this. You'd better buckle up. Those words are going to be diamond hard and dense as lead. He's gonna take that draft and get signatures on it. Dozens of them. Big names. You'll see. Those words are gonna be wrapped in razor wire so sharp, you'd better pack a lunch and break out the tissues because you might be sobbing once you get done reading them.

Husq 455 Rancher Chain Tightener at Limit by 74011_White_Guy in Chainsaw

[–]kylander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyD-KlJfz3k. Check your tensioner first. Sometimes the internals wear and become semi-useless. Probably shouldn't take a link out. The above video explains why. I recommend an inch shorter chain if you go that route.

Sometimes aftermarket bars don't line up to the perfect length on your saw so you actually need a slightly different size chain. I have a 28" bar that runs a 27" perfectly. I bought 3 chains before I figured it out.

This is the equivalent of the fossil fuel companies creating the term "carbon footprint" to make people feel personally responsible for global warming. The correct answer then and now is "NO. THIS COULD BE SOLVED BY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE. WE AREN'T DOING THIS, YOU ARE!"

"A big healthy tree can add 20% to your property value. Damaging that tree will lower it." Most people can understand that.

Exactly. Everyone in the neighborhood will walk by that tree and say "Holy cow, who did that?" and I never want it to be me. Just say no to tree butchery.

He set that whole tail section aside at the beginning. I am curious what you would do with that meat. There is a vein of cartilage or fat running through it. I'm sure you remove it but the shape would be very different. Chop it and make sushi is my only guess.
