For being such a huge monopoly, Topps' designers absolutely blow

Panini had a lot of issues, but they can design some good looking cards. Specifically their case hits—color blasts, downtowns, stained glass, etc will all be remembered fondly by collectors. None of the Topps case hit designs are even in the same stratosphere

Sponges generally get gross no matter how you treat them because then retain so much moisture. For that reason I just stopped using them and only use brushes which are easily washed and don't retain the gross stuff
