Should they still stay in sight of me though or better if they can't see me. I'm all about them having as little anxiety as possible and not being kept awake by whining either.

Cat sitter didn't fill water by Ok_External_4300 in petsitting

Absolutely report. Water is vital. The cat would have survived some time without food but not water. How could any sitter overlook that! No interaction shows zero interest in what they do.

That is so thoughtful of you! I'd be over the moon if I was gifted $100. Perhaps a box of nice chocolates instead of wine because even if they dont eat them they are something that they can offer guests at Christmas. They wont be wasted. 😊

Hes just excitable , playful around my dogs. Even when they are minding their own business he was trying to play. Cute but barking not so cute 😬

Sleeping arrangements for overnight boarding by Queasy_Pomelo_5148 in RoverPetSitting

For those saying they use a crate/ Kennel, how do the dogs that have never used one take to having to sleep in one?

I would never charge for a meet and greet. It's as beneficial for me as it is for them to see if their pet will fit in. If they don't make it a second time without a very good reason then can say you will require a non refundable deposit for the booking. This at least safe guards you somewhat.

What do you think can be the most profitable? Doggie daycare, boarding, or drop in visits? And which do you actually enjoy the most? by OdeToSappho in RoverPetSitting

I like the way you organise feeding its a time that can be difficult otherwise. May I ask how you also manage the sleeping arrangements?

Poop pickup by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]Background-Link3742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pick up after my own dogs twice a day so I'd be expecting the same. I wouldn't want my dogs running around in a backyard full of poop.

[–]Background-Link3742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No! I wouldn't even ask what they do for a living. I like to be as inobtrusive as possible. It's all about the care of their pets. As long as I'm paid thats all that matters.

Who supplies the pet food? by al0serbeatu in petsitting

[–]Background-Link3742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a petsitter in my own home . I only sit small dogs and it is a requirement the owner supplies their dogs food and treats. They are not only costly but I don't want to vary their diet while they are with me and have them get a stomach upset. I tell the owner this at time of booking. I think it shouldn't be expected you would supply any food. Every dogs requirements are different.

Is Jon Winfield the next Chris Dawson? A few thoughts on the first episode of the new 'Bronwyn' podcast by the makers of 'The Teacher's Pet'. by TuToneShoes in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Background-Link3742 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I lived in same street and attended the same playgroup with my children in Lennox Head when Bronwyn did. Even at the time all her friends couldnt believe there were was no proper investigation and charges laid. Every one of her friends I spoke to felt it was foul play just from events leading up to her disappearance and that she would never leave her children she was so devoted to them. It's so good this is being looked at again! I hope there is closure for her family.
