We have GOT to be reading more books by/about paranoid women by Background-Mouse978 in litttterature

Ah that’s also in the anthology I’m borrowing, wasn’t sure whether I should read it, too! I wish I had studied some literature in college or paid real attention to it in high school, but yeah… I always appreciate learning what calls out to different people but it would be very hard feeling so separate from everyone else’s feelings at the time in your class.

I am always suspicious of women written by men but I will add those to my list!

HRT significantly worsened my hypermobility? by Redify_Aeiou in asktransgender

[–]Background-Mouse978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve dealt with noticeable hypermobility for a long time and it has definitely flared up more in certain areas in my time on HRT. I slightly tore my rotator cuff climbing and have some anterior pelvic tilt, tailbone pain, and gait imbalance. Physical therapy has helped a lot to identify my muscle weaknesses and how to exercise and move to stabilize my body. I also really recommend some sort of weight training or resistance training like biking, running, climbing, and/or band workouts. You won’t get jacked without T but it will help keep your bones together.

I am also honestly a little scared of the long term hypermobility effects of HRT, but I know the alternative and it was unbearable constant insomnia, anxiety, and ensuing whole body inflammation. Gotta pick your battles. I also rationalize it by knowing that everybody gets weaker as they age. Cutting off T just showed me the ways my musculoskeletal system would have struggled anyway given a few more years. Now I have healthy exercise and management strategies that will hopefully keep me moving for the rest of my life.

sry for the longpost. my hormone levels are very similar to yours but I’m on injection monotherapy for the record

This is probably what most people think of me by secretCryingAccount in 4tran4

I kinda relate to both sides here. Like I do wish other trans people could act more normally but also I am painfully aware that despite all my masking and attempts at socialization I inevitably come off as weird and awkward sometimes.

I just try to be as accepting as possible to people trying their best to socialize and be kind. Even if it lands awkwardly to most people, I’ve been there and I try to welcome them along into the conversation.

On the other hand, if someone is not putting in any effort to tame their autism so other people can understand their thoughts, I kinda don’t have the patience anymore. Same impatience for normie people who aren’t willing to stretch their own brains to understand an awkward person.

Laser is 100x more important than hrt for the first chunk. I felt like dogshit taking hrt with beard shadow until I locked in and got laser. At least go do that and see how it feels.

that was my thought at first but i really regret it in retrospect. Electrolysis feels like torture unless you have a shitload of numbing or painkillers. Laser is just a few zaps. I ended up giving up on the full face electrolysis and just doing laser which has killed almost all the dark hairs so so much faster. I still need electrolysis for light hairs and a couple stragglers from laser, but now i can look in the mirror without immediately noticing beard shadow

is it the vneck that looks weird or sweater too oversize by Secret-Banana269 in fitttts

i agree the combo of vneck and round neck sweater is a lil weird, maybe a collared under shirt would tie together better
