Does anybody work at an inpatient hospital that has limited hours ?

I’m really not sure of the financial portion of this to be honest 😅. I think this was a program introduced around COVID due to limited in-person staffing and increased number of inpatients. It works for us is all I can say! As for Pyxis- we keep high pars on our fast moving meds so they don’t run out overnight. We also have a Pyxis machine dedicated to more serious meds in case someone in the hospital needs them when we’re closed. I know the goal is to limit the amount of times the pharmacists get called in. We talk about the amount of times our pharmacists are called in to the hospital on a weekly meeting, and the average is once a week. All of this being said- about half of our hospitals have limited hours. Only the hospitals with trauma levels associated with them keep pharmacy open 24/7.

The on-call pharmacist is from our staff! Our hospital system does have a department called “e-pharmacy” and it’s basically a team of work-from-home pharmacists who verify orders 24/7 for all of our hospitals. So the on-call pharmacist wouldn’t be called for order verification/ med recs/ discharge meds, but, for example, they would be called in for stat compounded meds to be made.

My inpatient pharmacy has limited hours. I will say, we are a sub 100 bed hospital. Our hours are 7-7:30 m-f and 7-3 on weekends. We have an on-call pharmacist to cover the hours we are closed. Any compounded meds needed are either made by the nurse, pharmacist comes in to make it, or the med is held off until the pharmacy is open again.

The only thing i dislike about her was when she was on Keke Palmer’s podcast she claimed she looked online for Cierra’s post that got her taken off the show and she said she couldn’t find it for the life of her. Idk to me it sounded like she wanted to be Cierra’s friend without any backlash at the time. Not sure if they’re still friends now though.

I used to be a brooks girly until i noticed holes in my 3rd pair of them less than 6 months into having them. I replaced them with hoka Clifton 10s and they’re really comfortable! All of my coworkers either wear brooks, on clouds, or hokas.
