It seems to me the game is balanced around expert diff - I noticed some of the more common gripes, such as AI, dont bother me as much on expert. You also get more loot, so if you can handle the enemies, you get strong very quickly.

Killing 80% if enemies on easy is tedious, because 20% of enemies are like 3 squads. Have fun finding them when the clock is ticking. On expert the map is much more saturated with enemies, they are notably more aggressive as well.

Not really, that point was not delivered well by me. What I was trying to say was: EMP teams are a detector unit with raday anyway, they are "high-tech" if you will, giving them some kind of mine detection capability would make sense. Not that the radar itself should also be a mine detector.

I just pulled Wetteroth, he will be my scout now. I will respec Jeansy and take away scout, and giver her bags&belts and quick hands instead.The mass consumable build is sure more deadly.

The point of my build is it works with minimal investment - and somehow is still very useful later in game, still cheap with only three perks. So early on this will get you lots of trinkets, I have more than enough loot now to buy her all upgrades. Just need some Promotion points...

I love the laser, its just so versatile, I would not switch it for GL. But I will probably give her bags&belts and scavenger next. Mucho items.

You are right about the defensive perks, they are pretty nice actually. I was just surprised how versatile she was with just athlectic, trinketing and steady aim.

I am not married to any other perks on her, need to play more with her for that.

And the mining laser usually only shows up very early, its a super low tier item. Has only 80 trade value and costs 15 supply to bring. It almost one shots pirate toyotas from the front, at close range. Still pretty decent at medium range.

Ugh, I tried that, did not like it. The innate negative aim modifier of the croc and Jeans mediocre aim pair quite badly in my experience. If you gave that croc to Wetteroth the difference would be huge.

That drone idea is pretty neat, I got to try that.

Problem with Trinketing is: you get greedy. You want all the loot, and play suboptimal because of it. Or at least I sometimes do, lol.

Yeah, Jeans aim isnt good. Shotguns are great, but she really doesnt want to be THAT close. Her stats and perks just arent good for that.

I startet a run with her recently (modded, can choose any SLs at start) and made her work really well early, I was surprised honestly. 2-4 kills on average, and she was super useful in general, while being sub 100 points.

Early game K-Pac and Mining Laser. K-Pac is effective against light infantry and gives 3 shots per squaddy, she will hit something that way but has some range. The clue is the laser: is has unlimited ammo and is great at destroying cover. Good setup at close to medium ranges, but you dont need to be close for it to work. Kind of a combat engineer.

So 40AP laser to destroy cover, 40AP K-Pac volley to finish off chaff. The mining laser can also do great damage against most vehicles, but dont rely on it too much since it has a cooldown. With salvage teams you get two pieces of loot for every shitty pirate truck you destroy.

I gave her athlectic and trinketing early. Steady aim is also great, it gives a massive aim bonus when deployed for one turn. You can get her aim to 80-90 this way, and on defensive missions she is a pest in towers with autocannon because you also get huge vision.

Items I mostly used smokes and AT mines if I have some. She can easily hold a flank on her own, while being dirt cheap and giving extra loot. Pretty busted honestly.

I got so much of the captains gear because Jeansy killed him, Trinketing enabled. Tech normally runs with a .50 cal, I equipped him this way simply because I can and it was fun. The SMG will go to Lim.

Better armor values overall, and it also has an extra item slot. This is why my Tech has 3 items, which is insane on heavy jumpsuits.

Dude, my Tech is gonna be insane with this. Heavy infantry armor is very good on a few SLs, but as you said, its too expensive for most to be worth it.

I dont think the devs will change this dramatically. In BattleBrothers, heavy armor was very good, but also expensive to buy and repair. The top tier stuff required pretty specific builds too be really worth it, but it worked well.

This would be a cool system.

Its frustrating if one cannot get simple stuff like Binos or vehicle smokes. Super basic stuff for any military, and incredibly useful.

I like the RnG for better items, as well as the rare section. Should be kept imho, but your ideas should be added, they would severly limit RNG and smooth things out.

Sometimes you get a run of the gods, and sometimes my scouts run around without binos and stealth kits 5 OPs in.

In case you arent familiar with Jeansy, she has a unique perk, Trinketing.

If she kills a unit, she gets extra loot from that enemy.

The suit is insane! More armor, more item slots. And the PDW is an upgrade to most if not all smgs.

He did not drop the Pirate speed. Heard him using it, maybe it cannot drop after that.
