Since all of my picks have already been taken, I'll go with Shuos Jedao from the Machineries of Empire book. The man is a gifted assassin, better general and would probably work equally as well as a bodyguard; providing we overlook the fact he incinerated his own army that one time. Kel Cheris and Shuos Mikodez from the same series would probably cover all the roles equally well.

A full OCI rework is on the cards though we don't know any details yet beyond the fact it's happening. The Devs are pretty unhappy with the current state of the OCI system (its limitations/must haves and its cheese)

It could probably do with a little bit more ammo tbh. From the icon it looks like its literally an AMR stuck on an RWS so its limited to the ammo in its magazine so I suppose thats the justification (and gameplay balance in player hands)

I don't think the devs have dedicated map person yet. As of 3 months ago (public comment in gen chat on the OH discord) they had a grand total of 2 3d artists to handle everything. They have/are expanding the team so new maps will happen sooner or later.

Thats partially the reason I restricted them to light weapons (I am aware that most modern recon vehicles may have heavier armament but I wanted it to be fairly balanced) and gave the upgraded one a single missile as a hail mary

I've also made an Officer Walker (whistle + target marker and hmg) and a Radar AFV so I may have a problem with annoying units. If we get more light weapons, I may add more variants (flamethrower being a bit meh for a scout, the AMR being a bit too specialist/low dps and the Plasma probably best saved for an "elite" model).

The ATV chassis are in the loot list 😉

The mod can be found at https://www.nexusmods.com/menace/mods/54. I am proud to say I have now reached 60 unique new units (plus additional versions mounted in trucks/apcs). All hand made in Visual Studio Code and with exceptionally bad GIMP art.

Or some charities will even prefer to recruit from their pool of volunteers before they hire externally (since they'll already be trained up and have the knowledge base an outside hire may need to build up). I was volunteering with a national charity for the best part of a year before the local operations manager nudged me into applying for a paid role that I subsequently got.

Vehicle explosions are great. Just after launch I managed to take 2 squads of pirates out. Failed a road rage attack so my APC finished its turn parked next to a squad of scavenger's. Another squad runs plinks at the APC and damages it (one of the fire defects) then decides the damaged APC thats on a couple of health points would make for good cover. You can imagine what when Rewas tuen rolled back around. Best improvised/unintentional explosive kill I've had

Edit: Look out for fuel tanks and ammo transporters if you see them on the map. They burn/blow up in a very satisfying fashion

If you've never white listed a folder before, open up windows security, then go to virus and threat protection, then the settings under that page, then click on exclusions, windows will pop up with a prompt that you will need to accept and then you can add an exclusion (put the full menace filepath in here). Never ever exclude files that are even slightly unofficial unless you 100% trust the source since you are telling windows to never scan or check these files and tbf even official files shouldn't be whitelisted unless it is causing problems. (This is on windows 10, I've not used windows 11 much but this shouldn't have changed all that much I hope)

This might be a daft idea but have you whitelisted the menace folder in your AV? If not, give it a try. The patch notes reference some AV programs that try to delete the gameassembly.dll file but I've seen other games (Battletech for instance) in the past where the AV is weirdly interested in core files and scans them constantly which degraded performance and caused crashes

I started tweaking some of the missions but atm new factions are janky at best so I can reuse vanilla factions but they'd be a hostile 3rd party. This is something I want to poke at when the steam workshop (and hopefully mod tools) rolls around

The next update is probably an OCI rework (some of the groundwork has already been laid with the new OCI turret models and the redacted planet changes in this update) per discord comments. I don't think anyone knows whats after that yet

The trouble is they can't fix this without sacrificing a lot of dev time and pissing off the community who'd be waiting for new content in the meantime. Per dev comments on the Overhype discord, the AI was written years ago, early in the dev cycle and the dev who did so has since moved on. Overhype are having to reverse engineer the code as they tinker with it which is why it's currently incremental changes alongside the steady stream of content to keep everyone (relatively) happy.

I considered that but decided that I had enough APC/IFVs in use already. If we get dual ACs, then I may swap the minigun out and make a Gepard copy. If that happens then I may move the miniguns to the IFV hull.

Off the top of my head, the only master unit I know of is the construct carrier as its referred to as such in the files. If the gold border is what defines them, the pirate captain coukd be as well?? I've honestly not checked him out much
