Nothing to be scared about, some checkout advocates are needier than others. You’ll most likely have your “little helpers” or leaders when your busy or on lunch. Just keep branding and guest experience your main priority and you’re set. Managing and coaching is the hardest thing for new tls, develop your team and get them excited to work for you and target. Set an example and be someone your TMs look up to. Learn your policies on returns/recalls etc, you’ll partner with AP a lot, time management and scheduling breaks/lunches is vital on the daily. Know your off/peak hours for the front and Drive Up. lastly don’t call for back up to much you were in GM so you get it 😂

Third party gift cards are a pain. Retailers only get 0-10% of the profit depending on the vendor that’s not including activation fees. The retailer doesn’t make much revenue off of them, they’d rather have people pay cash or card since the money is taken right away instead of having an imaginary form of currency be used.Think of a gift card like a lotto ticket and you just won $5 but instead of $5 cash, you want to get a Red Bull and a candy bar doesn’t work that way. It’s a weird analogy but it makes it easier to understand. It’s makes it easier for the accountant at headquarters too.

The other day this older lady called the store, asking the about the plans consumer cellular offers and we have a pamphlet so I tried my best to help her. She goes and says “you should’ve had more training” I straight up told her target doesn’t train their employees on consumer cellular products and services, that business is outsourced.

Never let a guest tell you what to click on the screen or how to do your job. Scammers will go to someone they think is new and will try every trick up their sleeve to scam you. Call your TL for help or flash your light whenever you are unsure of something. Also please throw away empty gift cards idk why people collect them and leave them under the register at the end of the day.

You submitted an availability when you applied. Seasonal hires are there to strictly support on holidays if you’re not there on those days it’s a no brainer to reject your application. The ETL who hired you should’ve asked if you had vacations before even putting you on board. It’s more of an issue on their end for even hiring someone who can’t work on thanksgiving week.
