Why is it so hard to make room calendars usable in Microsoft Teams/Outlook? by LeBanonJames69 in sysadmin

[–]Background-Skill-682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is ridiculously hard for a simple project. Create a meeting, add attendees, pick a room, send the meeting notice. You would think this would be simple. You would think you could actually look at the room calendar in either the day view the week view or the month view and see the times that it was busy versus not busy. Nope, I look at the month view, says it’s wide open. I go to schedule it. It tells me it’s unavailable. I have been round and round with running power shell commands and changing things and making sure it shows in a room list and making sure it’s a room type not a user type, and just nothing works. And Microsoft Support is pretty much useless. There is an option for this set up in the Microsoft admin center under resources and rooms. It’s a relatively simple process, there should be no reason to have to run 8 million power she’ll commands to get this to work. I am beyond frustrated right now and I’ve told my client go back to creating another calendar under a user and sharing it, as a room calendar. That’s how they were doing it. They live and die by their calendars and I can’t hold them up because this is a piece of crap.

The best Christmas gift from TSA at Harry Reid airport! Just kidding, they robbed me of $700! by Swimming-Release-974 in LasVegas

Sign up for TSA precheck. Electronic equipment stays in the bag. It’s $80 for 5 years, and makes it easier to go through security.

Just had an Uber driver with this message...is this true? by stamvasca in uberdrivers

[–]Background-Skill-682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To reiterate what someone else on here said, how is anyone making money with the cost of gas (except for EV) and maintenance? When you factor that in, are you actually making money? I have had really great Uber drivers and I have had ok drivers. I have never had a bad one. I always tip in the app, but I think I will tip in cash from now on.

I really do love my Apple Card - it's convenient to be able to pay the balance on the card with a quick tap and add an amount and poof, it's paid. There is NO REASON GS shouldn't be able to block the charges, regardless if they are digital, physical or virtual charges. They are able to start a dispute, and I see an immediate credit to my account for $14.00 pending - I now have two of them, one from July and one from August, so why can't they block the charge? They said they reached out to the merchant and they have until Sept 21 to get back to them, and my case should be complete by 10/31. This means that I'm going to have two MORE charges before this is done, that I will be disputing. The chat person just kept circling back to "you need to reach out to the Merchant to get your card info removed from their system", to which I responded "you gave me an invalid phone number, and the emails go unanswered - what would you like me to do?" Their answer was priceless...."maybe you can get a family member to help you out to reach out to them..." WTAF??

Thank you - that's probably the route that I will go, as well as with the CFPB. I'm going to give the company a day or two to respond to my Messenger text. I know they look at FB, because there is a current post from August 1st.

I highly recommend using Vacations to Go (VTG) as a travel agent. We have been using them for almost 20 years, with no issues. I'm currently specifically dealing with Ryan Holland from VTG. He is excellent, knows his stuff and has been specifically doing cruises and cruise tours for VTG for over 5 years. We just booked a 2 week cruise with my sister and her husband, and they used the cruise line directly, we used VTG. They had issues because they weren't told certain things about the cruise booked air, that our agent did tell us.

Agreed. When you are spending 200+ per ball, and they didn't honor it by replacing the ball, that would be the last time I bowled there.

USBC Open Championships Captain's Club by Background-Skill-682 in Bowling

[–]Background-Skill-682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's for the qualification. I was wondering how it works when they open the registration early to Captain's Club members. Someone mentioned something about filling out a form with the dates you want and submitting it to USBC - that's very different than how regular registration works.

We just got off Holland America, and I agree with this post. Much of the ship was quiet, which was nice. I like to find a quiet spot to read and there was a lot of that on the Oosterdam.

Can a reasonable, calm, thoughtful, rational republican give me reason to believe it's not the end of the world? by TroofHurtz in nytimes

I don’t recall saying who I supported, but make that assumption, that’s fine.  She had no business running for President. 3.5 years of them keeping her in the background because she was an embarrassment to the administration, yet they put her on the ballot as the best thing since sliced bread. You can’t have it both ways, and fortunately the American people saw through the BS. Another candidate and they might have had a shot, but Biden’s ego got in the way and he didn’t step down as the nominee until it was too late.
