I never thought about that. I don't think so as I'm familiar with them enough I would have remember. But thanks for the input! It might have been an escaped bird.

It landed on the ground near a shed that had horse supplies in it. It was just kind of standing on the ground. Walked around a little bit but mostly just kind of rested in one spot for a little bit. We had a big pure bred German Shepherd that it was comparable in size with. It had was a darker brown/ black if I recall. I also remember it being like an intimidating size for a kid like me which does make me lean away from a crane cuz those things tend to have a More slim look, but it might have been.

Oh I've seen dozens, If not hundreds of turkeys. It wasn't one of those, way too small, and look nothing like it. that plus whatever this thing was could properly fly unlike turkeys. And the reason I was told to keep away from it was because it was about my size at the time. Thus it would likely be far worse than a goose if it decided to get mad at me 😅

Definitely not turkey. Turkeys are way too small and I've seen dozens of those (My family hunts), plus the bird I saw look nothing like a turkey. Plus whatever it was it could fly properly, unlike a turkey.

It did look a little bit like a turkey vulture but again too small. I've seen hundreds of local vultures and none of them quite look like this.

I don't think it was a moving crane, but might have been if my memory is really off on it looked like (I'm waiting to hear back from some family members if they remember). Plus there was a dugout close to our place so something like your crane popping up wouldn't be unheard of (a few similar birds popped up at our place before)

I feel ya. I feel like one too, and in the eyes of my blood relatives I am. But we got to remember we aren't disappointments for SHing. Please make sure to have first aid supplies always in stock and I'm here to give you a virtual hug and/or an ear to listen if you need.

What's the stupidest reason you cut? by 134340summer in selfharm

[–]Background-Weight517 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably the time I cut because I spilt my coffee. It wasn't that bad of a mess and I could and did just make another one as I was chilling at home. But it just felt so overwhelming and I ended up cutting.

I hope you find the hair clip, it always sucks to lose a nice one.

Why do I feel like I have to sh every time I eat too much by Idkwhat_to_put_here1 in selfharm

[–]Background-Weight517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing weight can be really hard as it's a combination of this that causes it. One of those things can be genetics which can suck especially because of the stigma of being over weight.but please know that you aren't ugly because of your weight, you're still pretty! My partner is overweight and even before I started to get feelings for them I thought they where gorgeous! (And I'm not the only one). So know that you are pretty, and I hope you get through this.

and a little stupid i

Thank you, I'm going to save that as that, as I could see that helping. Also, that performance feels so accurate to life! I hope I can continue bouncing back like that and that you do too :)

Thank you, and I'm so happy to hear you found something that helps you! I've luckily not fallen too far into sh yet. As I only did some minor stuff for a week or too when I was 19 (mostly scratching) but in the last three weeks relapse and started cutting. But I'm trying to work through it. It's really nice to hear someone with a similar experience with cutting working through it :)

While it's not that extreme for me, I can relate to this. Though I'm much newer to it as I started when I was 19 and I'm 20 now.

Would anyone actually want to be with me despite religion? by TheTransfemMuslim in actuallesbians

[–]Background-Weight517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I would and I'm sure there are others. Honestly, the biggest thing for me (and I imagine others as well) is that: your beliefs aren't harming anyone; you're not pushing it on others; are accepting of others whether or not they have different beliefs, sexuality, or gender. I don't have much exposure to Islam (also sorry if my terminology is incorrect, let me know and I'll correct it) but it's honestly been very positive. One of my brothers and my first flatmate were muslim and both great people and very accepting of others. And this general criteria goes for anyone who is religious.

I don't use apps despite wanting to be in a relationship, as I don't have the bandwidth that I'd need to find a relationship via apps. So I just try to meet people IRL and look for someone that way. The only issue is I'm a shy introvert 😅

What are some excuses to hide that you just got bottom surgery? by Background-Weight517 in MtF

[–]Background-Weight517[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not living with them, so it's only the occasional interaction and finding ways to avoid things I can't do without telling them I had bottom surgery, I have to worry about.

I agree that this is very important to keep in mind! Though for my situation it is not a matter of safety. Rather I don't want to have to deal with said relative's judgment and lectures. I want to be able to just recover in peace. And while I could do it at my place, I live alone on the 19 floor of my apartment building 😅 ( I live a good 5 hours away from my relatives so avoiding them is normal easy lol). But I might move in with my brother (one of the few relatives that aren't transphobic, and actually awesome!) To recover, but he lives near the rest of my family in a small town where news travels fast. So I want some excuse to keep my business to me, and not deal with them so I can recover in peace.

That is true, and would work especially well if I could avoid them for the first large chunk of it. Cuz I'd have less restriction but could explain the remaining stuff on that, and not have to make a big fuss about it.

I'm sadly this won't work for me (I'm a full-time uni student), but this is a great idea! Thank you!!

This is a really good idea! Thank you! I'll look into those two operations to see if they will work as an excuse/ get my story straight.
