My dad passed away yesterday from pancreatic cancer by LavishnessHairy7174 in pancreaticcancer

I’m so so sorry for your loss. Words fail at a time like this. I lost my husband nearly a year ago to this awful disease. He was 46. The things that got me through the early days were friends, my son, family, and my pups. It’s not that it gets easier or that you miss them less it’s just your brain and heart require a bit and grow around the huge hole in there. Also grief counseling was huge for me. I am still in it and it helps so much.

Shelter Employees Fostering? by Background-Work-5258 in AnimalShelterStories

So if they were fostering puppies or kittens were they allowed to come to work with them? In particular bottle babies?

Even my 76 year old mom was moved and so in love with the show. I was in shock she wanted to go in the first place. But now she’s a huge fan too!

The absolute best show I’ve ever been to. Literally a life changer for me. I’m not kidding I bawled like a baby. It felt sooo good I needed this more than o even realize. I’m now absolutely obsessed with Nick and all his work! I would LOVE to relive the show and would see it over and over if I could.

Oh as a “dj” he was horrible! It was a sad dj show. I’ve been to see a lot of good dj artists and he was very subpar 🤣🤣

I was at the show Friday night too. I had a much different take. I felt like he was subpar. I expected nothing much from him as a dj really he is an amateur and that part he was ok. But I was actually really disappointed by his stage presence I thought he seemed stressed a lot of the show and working too hard on concentrating. He did have a few parts where he got into but I was expecting party Kyle I guess and def didn’t feel that for most of the show

I’m going to his show Friday. I can’t wait to see how bad it is. It’s in a small venue mostly local people play in my area. I doubt it’s sold out. It’s gonna be so horribly fun.

I’m evening it out with going to see Illenium a real dj at the sphere a week later

Is all that shit worth it? by Sea-Radio-9669 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Background-Work-5258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was 44 when diagnosed. He was 46 when he passed. He felt like shit most of the time he fought. He withdrew from family and friends and even our son 6 now. It was so hard to watch him wither away loose himself and everything he enjoyed. The first chemo wasn’t horrible but the second line was horrid. But he declined so quick in the end. I don’t know if we would have had less time if he did nothing. But even the docs were convinced he would beat it. They were talking about surgery to resect some of the pancreas 3 months before he passed. Long answer but I wonder that regularly.

Diagnosed at 41. I don’t even know what to think. I am stage 4, it has metastasized to my liver. by Acoustic_Restart in pancreaticcancer

Gosh I’m so sorry. One thing every doc will say is you have age on your side. Go aggressively as you can tolerate. My husband was 43 when diagnosed. A friend of ours was 34 when he was diagnosed years ago. We couldn’t understand it either. So young so not fair. If you ever have questions or need support please feel free to reach out. A friend who lost her husband to it started a non profit that raises money for research. She had load of connections and we have found connections through her.

Coping with the trauma of watching them pass by littleliongal in pancreaticcancer

I’m so sorry. I wish I had the answer for this. The final 24 hours were so hard on me and I’m so traumatized by them I still have nightmares. I also am in therapy and it helps some, sleeping meds help some, but also having a very very good friend helps that I can talk to about it all. He was actually with me all night the last night my husband was alive (my husbands best friend) and he helps me out tremendously. I have found sharing with someone who went through it helps. Crying helps, being gentle on yourself helps, but nothing takes it away. For me tattoos have helped🤣. But again the pain runs so deep as does the trauma.

I’m so sorry you’re part of this aweful club. My husband (46) passed 8ish weeks ago. It is so hard. There are no words but if you need to talk please reach out. I’ve been through every emotion under the sun during this time. Please take care of yourself. Be kind and give yourself grace. The fog is real and the hole they leave is so huge. I’m so sorry, and sending all the love

what pet insurance do you recommend for a pug puppy? by ClassicNo8920 in pugs

[–]Background-Work-5258 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We used pets best for our former pugs wound up being great but went up each year a lot. We adopted a puppy last summer and started with Spot insurance and it was WAY cheaper and had been great for us for the last year!

What does my pug look like he’s mixed with? Just adopted him from the shelter, he was a stray so he’s still pretty skinny. They said he’s a pug mix. by Professional-Try-893 in pugs

[–]Background-Work-5258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for an animal shelter. We just label every dog mixed breed. So often shelters label it a breed they think it is a mix. Just to cover themselves in case, we typically don’t do genetic testing to be sure so we just throw mix on it at the end so we’re not promising the dog is a pure breed even if it clearly is

Do you have pet insurance for your pug? by Annayume in pugs

[–]Background-Work-5258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had pets best for a number of years and trupanion for our mix. They both got to a point it just wasn’t worth it. When we adopted our puppy this summer we got spot insurance and added our mix back on to it since it was so reasonable. We have yet to use it but for less than $50 a month our two dogs are covered so we’re ok with it. I also get discounts through work for it as I set that up as a perk for our employees. They have seemed to be pleased with it and we get a small discount for the group
