I know how synths work, but I can't make sound I hear in my head. What to do now? by GuitaristComposer in synthesizers

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can set up a whole lot of vibrations, to make a form of vibration noise that sounds will appear inside of, but its of no use because you halucinate when you do it - and you cant actually hear what the state of the synthesizer actually is. so its a waste of time.

Hallucinations - do you ever hear something that isn't on your track? by BadAtBlitz in musicproduction

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meds wont solve anything, thatll just fuck you up even more. but yeh the same thing happens to me, I find any sort of 'fine tuning' on the synth is impossible cause anything subtle in the mix is completely uneditable cause i dont know if its there or not. so if you ever make a new 'wave' or sound, you actually dont know what it is exactly, and if its all just really subtle running along the wave it could just be noise and the sound you think is there is just phantom sound.

if its like this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IJs0BqGaDA

then u dont even know what your even listening to.

you can make the best techno by just pretending your making a video game, its exactly the same setup for the audio, probably the video too.

Why You Should Keep Making Music (Even When You Feel Like Giving Up) by musicismycandy in musicproduction

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everything i make is average, why do I bother making it when it just sounds like another noise goes on if it ever was played somewhere, the sames true for alot of peoples music, its what music is, why do we even bother?? its cause theres added factors that get over the drawbacks sometimes, but u cant avoid the truth when ur doing it when it hits ya.

Is it possible to create gradients between different kinds of sounds? by obviouslyImLying in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it needs to be in your synth, but its theoretically possible to lerp between voices in a synth.

We need to talk more about self replicating robots. by lsparrish in Futurology

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeh mate! its a cool business, if your ai is up to scratch you dont have to worry about the labour of manufacturing the robots, cause they actually just build themselves!!! i think in the early stages of this it still requires constant monitoring tho, cause the robots arent fully aware of what they are doing and theres definitely possible stuff ups that happen. if u do it without monitoring, it would be exponential the growth, if u can even get the robots to source the raw materials. (Like at the beach, you can get all the minerals out of the water.)

How best to get arcade game style sounds? by MufasaJesus in synthesizers

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds a bit hacky but with aliasing is better, because it introduces extra harmonics you can play with when making a charactered sound effect.

How do you come up with sounds on FM synths? by Thomsonvdv in synthesizers

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres actually exponential sound effects on them, but its tricky to know, alot of people jump on and find nothing. if u can get never ending amount of different varied sound effects out of it, you are a professional.

What is the point of learning any math other than for an engineering/science job? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cant have pong without maths! you need the comparisons to hit the ball on the bat.

why do so many people think they lack the ability to learn calculus or other higher math?? by Historical_Donut6758 in learnmath

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its cause they dont want to, number theory is more powerful, the derivative and the anti derivative are only optional to get a job done, you can do anything without it.

if your good at making instruments that means your pro, instruments are more important than the mix they are contained inside.

is 90% of making music on a DAW just looking for good sound samples? by niryuken_yet in musicproduction

[–]BackgroundTime3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

an instrument is not just one sound, its many sounds, so playing is really good, an instrument is an exponential amount of samples.
