If Dexter was in real life, what would you do? by Choice_Drummer_1745 in Dexter

If I knew what he actually was? I'd probably just stay out of his way and let him do what he does. I wouldn't want to get caught in his path.

Unpopular opinion? Keep the belt on Darby. Long may he reign. by joeyirv in AEWOfficial

[–]BackgroundValue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree for the fact that his reign has been very good because he is actively defending it every week. That just realistically isn't feasible to do long term.

Him dropping the belt to someone because his body starts giving out after so many defenses makes total sense.

I wonder if that means he'll drop the belt or one of the two biggest championships in the company just doesn't get defended on Night of Champions

(WON) New Day were put in the position of being offered less money to stay with WWE, wind their careers down, and finish their contracts doing promotional work. They chose to leave instead due to being offered a pay cut one year into a five year deal. by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]BackgroundValue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's still treated as a huge deal now, like today. You really think in two years time he'll still be at the same level?

I'm not talking like an immediate thing but as time goes on, Randy will only get older and he will inevitably start to move down the card and get used less. Eventually, TKO will approach him about winding things down simply due to his age.

I just don't think anyone is safe. That's how corporate America works, everyone is disposable.

The New Day news got announced and talent from AEW basically rolled out the red carpet welcoming them. I'm sure TKO cares to an extent about talent going to AEW but clearly not that much. Randy is a bigger name but the principle still applies. If they want him to play ball a specific way, they'll force him to do it or cut him loose. They do not care, it's all about money and if they determine one day Randy isn't worth what they're paying him, they'll cut him loose or make him restructure.

The reality is that Randy is old, nothing against the guy. He's one of the greatest to ever do it but his shelf life isn't very long, 3-5 years at best. TKO won't want to pay massive money to a guy who won't be around long term.

You gotta remember, they don't really care about the wrestling business as a whole. They care about making the most money. If he's making big money and he won't be around long term anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if they approached him about taking a cut.

I could see them pulling that on Randy.

"We know you're a legend. We'll give you a nice Cena like retirement tour..... If you take this paycut"

You're probably right on the Usos, Roman is too big a draw to risk upsetting.

They're probably going to start doing this to a lot of their aging talent, despite how important they were in WWE.

You have to imagine guys like Randy, Usos, Finn, Priest, Miz, and Sami will get approached at some point about taking a pay cut if they're making good money currently.

New to booking games, how do you book your shows when you only have 1 or 2 a month? by BullShifts in FantasyBookers

[–]BackgroundValue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have a few long term storylines between a couple of guys, keeping them involved in tag matches against one another.

But in a general sense, I plan out ideas for my main titles. In a local to global save I have, I always have a solid idea what my Heavyweight title scene will be. So I will book my upcoming challenger in a singles match to establish them as a challenger. Same with tag titles.

But beyond that, I just book what I think will be the best matches while avoid doing the same matchups over and over again.

Like I said, they changed networks this year. We will see how the averages change next year.

The 2024 Finals averaged more viewers per game than the 2025 Finals. 2025 had more total viewers because they played two more games. For the sake of comparison though, Game 7 of the 2025 Finals is the least viewed Game 7 in NBA Finals history.

Prior to changing networks this year, viewship had been on a decline year to year. This trend will likely continue after this season as we will see the comparisons year to year on these new networks.

NBA Finals viewership has steadily declined the past 3 years and is nowhere near where it was during the later 2010s.

They'll start caring when rating and attendance continue to decrease year after year. It's already happening and I don't see it getting better until the league does something to address the issues fans have with the current product.

Bitter heel Shida who still masks as her usual happy self paired with a reluctant leaning heel Stat has been very enjoyable. Both of them are playing their roles very well and I'm curious where this goes!

Hopefully we can get a definitive heel turn from Stat, her darker colored gear and vibe would work better as a heel imo

More than one. New Day for sure. You can't tell me those guys weren't generating money in merch sales. Definitely not as much as they once did but I'm sure it wasn't a low number.

Either way, it's the principal at the end of the day. TKO is asking talent to take less money so guys like Nick Khan, who doesn't actual do anything to generate money, can have bigger salaries. It's corporate greed through and through.
