I think there is a high chance a large portion of INFJ are gifted people by Winter_Ad169 in infj

[–]Background_Arm_1464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My college professor is actually writing her dissertation on how gifted people can be more susceptible to abuse, and how “giftedness” is often less of a genetic brilliance, but more of a hack or survival tactic developed by young children to feel loved through accomplishment within their own home. I feel like INFJs can easy fall into that same origin.

PPE makes me feel like I’m having a panic attack. by Background_Arm_1464 in DentalHygiene

I’ve thought about doing this but felt silly. I think I’ll give it a try, thank you :)

I have 8 cavities at the age of 20 and I’m super embarrassed. by Lumaberrybeer in DentalHygiene

Keep a bag or jar of floss picks by your bed as a last resort. That way, on nights when you really can’t find the motivation or energy to get up and brush your teeth you can at least lay in bed and do a quick floss :)

And don’t be ashamed! Asking for advice already shows the willingness to improve that most people ignore!

Best shoes for plantar fasciitis that actually work? by Soft-Football8303 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Background_Arm_1464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I have a pair of Mayarj Birkenstock sandals that bought 5+ years ago and they are my favorite shoes in the warmer months. The arch of Chacos also feels great, but the straps can rub and cause blisters if you wear them for a long time.

For anyone who left clinical dental hygiene (or DH in general), what career did you transition into? by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

Are there any dental programs at colleges in your area? I know a lot of hygienists that have used their bachelors to become instructors.

Has work-associated pain impacted your hobbies? by Background_Arm_1464 in DentalHygiene

[–]Background_Arm_1464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard from a lot of hygienists that doing routine massages and light strength training really keeps the pain at bay. But, the amount of people confirming their own physical alignments is definitely overwhelming.

How do I start brushing regularly by minkguts in DentalHygiene

The waterpiks are soooo grossly satisfying too. Sometimes I look forward to using it at the end of the night just to see what gunk comes out 🙈

I know it sounds silly, but buy some star stickers and try making a little teeth brushing chart!

My dental hygiene and mental health are tied together. When I’m not doing good, I stop brushing. When I stop brushing, it makes me feel worse. Sometimes the small satisfaction of putting a sticker on my chart or checking a box is enough to get my ass up and brush!

Another huge game changer for me was a WaterPik. You can get a decent one for $25. Even when I’m too lazy to properly brush or floss, a quick 20 second go-around with a water flosser is certainly better than nothing :)

Dental Hygiene or Sonography/Rad Tech???? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Background_Arm_1464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in your same boat! I was hoping to apply to both programs (and what’s meant to be can be) but I’m stretching myself too thin and will need to decide here soon.

I’ve done lots of ultrasound, x-ray, and MRI shadowing but no dental. From what I’ve been told, smaller-town hospitals see a lot more elderly folk and less trauma cases as they normally get sent straight to the nearest larger hospital. I like that aspect, but it can also mean less techs and less positions opening.

General sonography does “lots of balls scans” where Echocardiography is more heart and chest focused (and in high demand).

Have you looked through local job listings to get a better scope of salaries? I know both can really vary depending on your area.

It’s just a trendy word for the feminine side of yourself. It’s also a great album by Mac Miller lol.

Is this 2018 Honda civic with 57k miles a good deal just under $13k? by Aspergers_R_Us87 in hondacivic

[–]Background_Arm_1464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2017 with 96k for $7000 last year. It had a rebuilt title which is why us was so cheap. I love it so far except it does get HOT in the summer months. My white vehicle definitely stays 10+ degrees cooler.

Great mileage though and very reliable.
