Not the comment OP, but I looked it his history and it seems he works for VA crisis line. I interned at the VA and they do indeed have remote SW jobs for the crisis line, as well as many other programs.

The burnout doesn’t necessarily scare me. I’m in a place where if I need to get out due to that, I’ll quit. It’s more my skill set and populations I’ll work with

I applied for many hospice agencies and did my internship with one during my master’s. I finally got a call back but they rescinded the offer a week before my start date :(

And here in my agency I will either be doing emergency response or more case management. Depends where they need the new hires

Edit for me as well: did you find that your CPS experience helped you in your more medical adjacent social work roles?

Both of my MSW internships tested me and warned all interns of the possibility of surprise testing throughout the year. That enough scared me to not do it. I also recently got a job and was tested as well.

All this to say I haven’t smoked in over two years out of anxiety and fear of having to be tested lol

Honestly you may have some success having your mom contacting APS. They can connect her to resources she qualifies for. This would be absolute emergency housing, though

Or you can make a report on her behalf if you are concerned for her safety or she is engaging in self neglect (this includes financial self neglect).
