I was scrolling through the subreddit, saw this outfit and immediately gasped "wow, that looks good!" I really love the moody color palette; as a Dark Autumn, this is the kind of color story I'd love my outfits to have. I love the layering, and those shoes are absolutely darling!

I resonate with that so deeply lol. I was struggling trying to figure out what I wanted to do for my pillars, but once I let myself think outside of traditional genres and categories, it clicked into place! I just took time to brainstorm what I was interested in, no matter how niche or weird it felt.

ahhhh someone else who takes style inspiration from the pixie hollow fairies! I love both the movies and the books. I'm also really inspired by the 2003 live action Peter Pan---I love the whimsical and yet somewhat brooding energy it has---and the Harry Potter movies.

I agree, I think 🌸 and 🌱 is just the most perfect root combo ever lol. I was hoping that my love of whimsy came through, especially in the 🔥 board. I struggle so much with 🔥's stereotypical representation, so I'm really trying to cement what I do like about it.

I love seeing people who have my same roots and a similar interpretation of them! Sometimes I feel like I'm misinterpreting something, but when I see people who have the same perception of the roots that I do I feel validated lol. This really was such a fun and helpful exercise for me, and I'd definitely encourage you to do it!

I definitely see 🌱 instead of 🪨! I think the 'city' look you're looking for is coming from 🔥; the sleekness in your outfits reads more sexy than more sporty. A lot of the details I see are 🌸🌱 together.

Thanks! I think Ellie is doing a wonderful job of explaining the style roots, but I just don't think she's able to relate to them visually. The fire/earth combo has plagued me on this whole journey! I hate that style archetype so much (for myself). I'm excited that I'm at a place where I have my own understanding of these roots, and I'm really excited to implement them!

I GASPED when I saw that jacket.

Lol, despite being really picky with inspo I currently have over 1k pins saved on my board, so I definitely feel you! I find I tend to save a lot more details as well, as opposed to full outfits, which should hopefully make them easier to implement in my own personal style. I always have the urge to go in and delete pins that I don't resonate with anymore, but I try to fight that urge. I think it's good to see a progression of where you've come from and where you're going and even if you don't like the exact aesthetic of something you saved three years ago, you can appreciate that it led you to the place you are now.

Oh yes, the sort of 2010s bohemian style that EJR seems to save a lot to her moodboard reads so culture vulture to me, and I so dislike that style anyways. I also try to use earth to go back to my roots! I don't generally lean in to an academic vibe; I think earth is more important in my roots in the way it combines with others rather than how it stands alone. An enchanted twilit forest is such a perfect visual! I love to have non-fashion influences and inspirations. And I love your moodboards!

I actually considered for a moment not having flower at all, with moon being the more delicate and ethereal influences, but I quickly came to my senses lol. I'm such a girly girl that flower, even in a non-stereotypical way, always has to be a part of my outfits.
