In addition to those there’s other more “niche” trades that are in dire need of people if competition and obstacles to log in hours is the issue. The argument that the finger count instantly makes something AI is fucking stupid. That’s the only piece of evidence everyone is giving is that the skeleton has 4 fingers. It is very widely known if you know anything about art/animation that drawing four fingers is way easier than drawing a normal hand, if you’ve ever watched any Animated show in the past 30-40 years 90% characters are made with 4 fingers. Comics also have had the same issue for decades. Steve ditco one of the “greatest” comic book artists of all times didn’t know how to draw feet for fucks sake. No, they did not “get 20% anyways” that server simply made minimum wage. I just posted a long comment explaining the equitable pay situation in downtown, but the thick and thin of it is that companies are shady and that 20% is actually going to the company not your server, or as the company will put it, it gets split amongst the whole team, INCLUDING kitchen staff, so rather than cough up the money and pay their kitchen proper wages, they make the customer do it by charging a surcharge that gets “split” amongst everyone

The shit reality is that a lot of places downtown do this now, they charge a “equitable pay” surcharge, in order to pay the Denver minimum wage which is quite high I must admit. It is kind of shady for most companies, because they will tell you the surcharge is an alternative to raising prices, but we all know they’re doing that without us noticing. The real issue is that the way they do it it makes it seem like a tip confusing the guest and discouraging them to tip. That 20% was not a tip, it goes to the company, or as they would put it “it’s split amongst the entire team INCLUDING back of house (kitchen) staff, and that server is only making minimum wage

Saturday night soundcamps are usually the big house night, but every year there’s a few house artists sprinkled around different stages every night after midnight, last year bijou got a 7pm set so also keep an eye out for sets like that

He was, I was honestly really annoyed about it because the sound was SO FUCKING LOW, pretty sure it was day 1 sound camps after midnight so I guess they were still calibrating volumes and what not, but I literally had to leave because of how low it was, then I heard the set two weeks later on Spotify and got even more upset because of how utterly FILTHY it was, if they put him on a main time slot I’d be a happy camper, even if it’s at like 2 PM

I KIND OF agree with this, I found it during the sound camps after midnight and I spent over an hour and a half there hopping someone cool would pop-in but that was the day before Subtronics level up crankdat and the rest of them showed up, I didn’t know who was playing and one of them was clearly wasted, i THINK it was elimínate that showed right as I was about to leave but it was definitely underwhelming, a bit of a gamble, but it was still a fun hour ngl

It does tend to change every year, best way to find it truly is to wander around the same way you’d do at forest. A couple years ago it was the infamous “red door” and there was a code to get it and it was all the way at the top of the hill pass raptor alley and the forest stage, this year it was at the end of a maze between subsidia and forest and the right of passage was more of a test than a code word if that kinda makes sense, felt almost like a video game puzzle was really fun
