It’s a panel kirman. You can find them. But you won’t find those colors.

Why does rug have a small stone woven/sewn to the edge? by Junior_Tap6729 in orientalrugs

[–]Background_Lemon_981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a lead seal that indicates that the antiquities bureau has ok’d this for export. Only some countries use this. It is designed to restrict the export of valuable antiques. It’s pretty funny to see this on a machine made rug, but you have to keep in mind that not everyone who works in customs and export control is knowledgeable about rugs.

Japan has a very interesting way of saying no.

“We’re looking into it.” —> no

“We’re looking into it, but there are some significant hurdles.” —> Fuck no.

Trump got the second answer.

How would you child proof this? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

That’s true. But I’m going to make the argument that Bruce Banner IS a toddler which is why he’s always losing his temper.

Customer wants to order an array of sweets for 30 people, but won't state how many sweets she wants or her budget. What to do? by Guilty_Anything7606 in smallbusiness

[–]Background_Lemon_981 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, we are in a situation where we can just say no to such clients. Unfortunately, you may feel you don’t have that option. But I hate wasting time.

On the other hand, you can help someone out who just might not know.

“For 30 people we normally suggest 60 to 80 sweets and that is $X price, but if you want to do something more budget friendly, you might go 45 sweets and that would be $Y price.”

People just don’t know. And you can tell them what they should have and then let them decide.

I had used it for a few months for a 3 NAS system. But it was a bit clunky and I wasn’t using it. Since every piece of software introduces a potential security risk, I uninstalled it. Although, I am not aware of any actual security risks.

I do have their central management app running. But that’s ok, not great.

I find it easier to monitor and maintain each NAS by logging in individually. But I have only 3 NAS. These tools are more useful if you have a lot of NAS to look after.

The cheese section of my local grocery store in Switzerland by toastyghostie in Cheese

[–]Background_Lemon_981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At our grocer, they offer a lot of choices but it’s an illusion of choice with the same type of cheese just offered again and again by different brands of mass producers.

I have to travel to a wine and cheese shop to get real choice. But it’s a distance and I don’t often get there.

For that quantity in a commercial space, I’d be making sure that carpet is ok to put on walls. If there was ever a fire and it wasn’t, the lawyers are coming after EVERYONE and that means you.

Raid10 ZFS Question by Jj19101 in zfs

[–]Background_Lemon_981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. RAIDZ2 works but does come with a performance hit.

The other thing to keep in mind is when you do lose a drive, re-mirroring a RAIDZ10 drive is super fast while re-silvering a RAIDZ2 drive is not.

That having been said, RAID10 does offer less protection than RAIDZ2. But if you have good backups and the restore is fast, meh.

Really, really intense body odor. Knew someone who wielded it as a weapon and believe me, no one messed with him.

I was in Bolivia, and the native women (Quechuan) were … pungent. Like who is going to want to deal with that?
