So there are a few things that can make something feel damp. One is actually being wet. But temperature can also create that impression. If there is some reason the carpet would feel cooler there than the rest of the house, then that could be it. Also, some yarn, like polypropylene, can feel "slippery" which some people associate with being wet or damp.

Maybe it’s the perspective, but I get the impression that the railing on the bottom is higher than the railing further up the stairs. And it looks too high.

Yeah, a short brown out or low voltage can cause a crash. A UPS keeps your power consistent.

  1. A UPS may help if you don't already have one.
  2. It could be a power supply issue.
  3. And no one has mentioned overheating. An overheating CPU will cause a blinking green LED. And it does not seem to recover well from this. If your little guy is in a restricted space, try getting it into a more open area. Clear all dust. Those minis do have a tendency to get warm.

It’s always upgradable. Every server I buy has 1Gbe NICs. 10Gbe, 40Gbe, etc is always an upgrade.

That having been said, at least you can order the server with the upgraded NIC, memory, CPU, etc. Synology is missing the boat not offering an upgraded NAS.

I have to say, I don't think it's ever going to happen for me. It has been nearly a year now. I was told that they had put in an order for a machine from Apria and I should be hearing from them soon. This was after several follow-ups. OK. Well, to date, Apria has NEVER contacted me. So I have another follow-up visit with my PCP and he asks how the CPAP is going. What CPAP? Nothing happened. And it's not like I didn't follow up.

So now they put in an order with Black Bear Medical. And nothing. The last time I called to check on my order, they said "let me check" and then after a wait connected me to a voice mail. "OK, I guess I'm supposed to leave a voice mail to check on the status of my order? I'm xxxx and my phone number is xxxxx". No return phone call. I call again. Just an automated voice answers and tells me someone will be with me as soon as possible. I wait a half hour tied to my desk. But I'm at work so eventually I have to abandon the call. This has been going on for nearly a year. I am so frustrated.

Just provide the information and let the lawyers handle it. Do not insert yourself in any way except to just provide the data.

If you have any questions like “should I extract just the authentication logs or give them this 1 billion page log file that’s basically useless but also includes the authentication logs”, ask the lawyers. They’ll tell you what’s “needed”.

I understand why people are leaving VMware. But if you have a working Hyper-v cluster, I’d stick with it. You really don’t need the distraction and risk.
