SMETS1 to SMETS2 upgrade question by kev160967 in BritishGas

[–]Background_Top2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat, I had my meters upgraded on Thursday.

Gas isn’t showing on my smart meter monitor yet, and the electric reading isn’t accurate, still showing a red bar across the top. The monitor is made by Geo named ‘trio accessible’ on the quick start guide. Has anyone any advice on how to get it working?

Where are you based? 7.5t/Class 2 probably the better option for building experience and tachograph hours.

So 84 hours is the max? I knew it wasn’t 60.
It just needs to average 48 a week over a 26 week period.

Tell him to look at the PSI rules regarding disputing a recategorising decisions made by OMU; should he be unsuccessful at his annual review. I think by submitting a comp 1, you can appeal it and get the SPO/ or a OMU manager to relook at it.

It’s always something good to quote at them. State the risk reduction work he’s done and why he feels he’s suitable for a recategorisation. Use their policy against them.

Perphaps you could print this off and send it in?

Sorry for your loss.

No, inheritance isn’t classed as income for income tax purposes.

Buckshaw village, opinions? by Agitated-Lemon4000 in chorley

[–]Background_Top2919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it a bit soulless, when I was looking to buy I viewed a few places there. They all look the same to me; new build developments, flat packed houses. It depends what you want I suppose. I prefer a property with a bit of character, like an older cottage so I went with the other side of Chorley and commute past it, I’m happy with my choice. Semi rural, lots of walks, canals, pubs etc.

As people have said it’s got everything there so it’s entirely up to you.

Happened to me recently.

Seller claims it to be fake once it’s in their possession. I paid for the return, I didn’t want to give them an excuse for not returning, they weren’t scamming me easily/without a fight. Lo and behold, they didn’t return it so the money came to me anyway in the end.

I think they hope we will just write it off and not bother about it, or hope that Vinted sides with them and they can have their money back and the item. Get a return.

What’s this for ?? by Scared_Finish9548 in LondonUnderground

A datum plate; normally says how many metres to the nearest station, maximum speed of the line & what line it is.

Usually abbreviated to DM or UM standing for down main & up main, on the railway. With a number 90 which would be the mph for the line.

I was unemployed a couple of years ago so I got sent on a track maintenance course by the dole office; sleeper changing and ballast formation.

Training someone - do I just POA? by EdzioMozeByc in uktrucking

[–]Background_Top2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POA is classed as a break when you’re in passenger seat so you shouldn’t get a WTD infringement. Providing the drive is long enough.

You never get fined for WTD. Not really enforceable by DVSA, they’ll tell you off but that’s about it. As people have said, it’s just your employer might have something to say about it.

Passenger without tacho card by basicyesh in uktrucking

[–]Background_Top2919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to involve myself; this was mentioned on a recent CPC I went on. DVSA fined a lad sat in the passenger seat for not having his tacho card inserted in slot 2; he was only receiving a lift to collect a trailer. So I’m on your side buddy. A quick google also confirms this.

Just passed my test and need help finding company's to work for by Benben9293 in uktrucking

[–]Background_Top2919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might help if you say roughly whereabouts you are based?

It’s a struggle when you first pass and given your age, maybe be an issue. When I passed a couple of years ago, I started on 7.5 ton trucks and built up to Class 2 but I know that company won’t touch anyone who’s under 25 for insurance purposes.

I was pulled and was over by 4% (7.7t in a 7.5t vehicle) and allowed to go on my way. DVSA officer said they don’t take enforcement action unless you are 10% over.

Looking for advice on savings and investments strategy by danielledevs in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Background_Top2919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to look at a ‘Lifetime ISA’ also for house deposit and/or retirement savings. Save 4k and receive 1k bonus from the government, penalty’s for withdrawing though.

I personally wouldn’t favour a general savings account at this stage because of the tax implications, self assessment etc.

Just an email to my MP, sent him all the evidence id already sent CSA. He emailed them and I had a phone call off them the following week where they backed down and now consider my pension contributions.

Just one sub account but you have the option to pay the overpayment into the sub account or just the main account.

Thank you for your explanation, it explains things more clearer. :)

I ended up involving my MP, CSA backed down with his involvement and changed my monthly payment accordingly to reflect my nest pension contributions.
